6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageExcellent school. I have an 8th-grader attending there now. Teachers are wonderful, and there is a lot to offer the advanced student. They also expect more from the advanced students, like volunteer work, which instills in the kids excellent ideals and values. People have commented about cliques, and I agree. But I'm not sure you can ever get rid of social cliques in junior high and high school, as much as we would like to! Bullying is a different matter, and needs to be stamped out. Luckily, we have experienced very little of that at James Hart.Parent Review9y ago - Willow School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI moved to HF from a neighboring community and I have been very pleased with my experience here. I didn't get the best educational experience at my previous district and the high school had a bad reputation so we came to HF. Overall, the school is great. There are two buildings on campus and students have to get to the other building within a short period of time, so it gives you a college feel. The new principal has been a wonderful addition to the school, starting the dad squad program last year and creating more incentives for students. There are a ton of athletics and activities to get involved in like theatre, gymnastics, track, lacrosse, robotics, band, and many more. The counselors are very helpful and make sure everyone has a plan before they leave HF. My counselor encouraged me to enroll in more rigorous classes to prepare me for college. Even though some of the more rigorous classes like the AP and IB classes can be rough, the counselor and teachers make sure you are supported and that you have all of the resources you need to be successful. Many students leave HF and end up going to top colleges in Chicago and across the country. HF is definitely a school I would recommend.Other Review4mo ago - Check out schools near 1251 Thomas St.
