4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have a kindergartner at Martin City school. The school takes education very seriously and has a tough curriculum for their students. My student has homework every week and is challenged every day to do his very best. I love this school!Parent Review6y ago - Grandview Sr. High School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs someone who has gone through Grandview Middle and High School, I will tell you that I was not prepared for college after graduating from here. I was in all of the advanced classes, took college credit courses and I thought I was ready. However, I had not developed any study skills or had my future discussed in anyway that could have put me on the right path. At GHS you can easily skate through with As and Bs without applying yourself (I know I did) and I was never taught the right way to write college-level papers, research techniques, or APA format. There were fights, screaming, and overall unpleasantness in the hallway that felt very chaotic for an introvert like me and so one of my fondest memories I have was my graduation when I finally didn't have to go there anymore and I could be surrounded by people who valued learning and not being an overall shit head. Yes, there are good and bad students like every school has, but if you value your kids education, please don't send them here. Go to the Kansas side and find a school that can fund sports other than football, and doesn't have monthly room lockdowns to have drug dogs walk by the lockers to find contriband. Yes, there were good teachers too (although one ended up dating my friend after graduation and another hit on my friend via Facebook), but the good teachers are so burnt out from the more challenging students, that the good students could get away with murder. Which isn't preparing you for the real world at all.Student Review1y ago - Check out schools near 12316 Oak St.

"It's a perfect combination of wooded peace and freeway access. The neighborhood is quiet and low traffic. One end is bordered by the golf course and the other by a walking trail. The Blue River runs nearby."

"I have lived in Mission Lake since 1982 and love it. A nice, quiet, safe community with the feel of living in the country, yet we're in the city. "

"this is a changing neighborhood. Always changing. It's gone from home wonership to rental/ownership and now that values have come down it has become very desired for home ownership again. It's a great first or last home place! Friendly, considerate and concerned home owners who watch out for one another and their neighborhood."
