8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a great school for some but can be an incredibly toxic environment for others. Great opportunities, with access to field trips, technology, and well qualified kind teachers. I had access to technology from as young as 2nd great that has set me up well so far. The school is small and has very specific traditions that it sticks to. I noticed a lack of principal interference with student complaints and needs. Some of the more tenured teachers seem to be beyond reproach and can treat students as they please. The rules are restrictive, arbitrary, and constantly changing. Every year lunch monitors told us not to do more and more during recess. Some of these monitors were volunteers who were just lovely but others would refuse to get balls that went over fences, and prevented you from doing so. Or asked specific students they disliked to take abandoned trash all the way across the campus rather than asking students near the bins, they would play games with tired and hungry students, waiting to release them to lunch just because they could. Equally some volunteers devoted time to organize fun recess events purely out of the kindness of their hearts. Principals were completely out of touch with the middle school which was nearly ignored. I definitely don't recommend this school after 5th grade. Bay Farm is completely what you make it, if your unlucky enough to be stuck with bad teachers and staff you will have a terrible experience with no administration interference, it varies from year to year.Other Review3y ago - Alameda High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe subjects are good, good community, the only problem is that your yearly experience is HEAVILY dependent on the teachers you get. My apush teacher only talks about himself and I just know I'm failing the AP test because of it. School lunch is good, Campus is great, I never find myself being late to classes, but the hall monitors can be a little strange at times. Gender neutral bathrooms are required to have the doors open at all times, which i'm pretty sure is to prevent vaping but it's kinda like really discriminatory towards gender non-conforming students. Overall really good school, I feel like I was kind of negative towards it but i've genuinely enjoyed my time here.Student Review2mo ago - Lincoln Middle School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOverall this school is better than the majority of the middle schools in the bay area. I appreciate the amount of options for different electives that generally help like learning languages and different skills. The Pe teachers do a great job teaching each seasonal sport with tactics that will help students in the future. What i do NOT like about this school is the amount of unnecessary rules that are set. The Lms staff and principals are not very good at tolerating with kids behavior and don’t take some situations seriously or wont hear a student out in a situation when they get in any sort of trouble. It is very rare for any sort of physical fight to go down in this school which says a lot about promoting the safety in Lincoln Middle. They promote equality by making school clubs for every race, gender, and religion, but i notice that there is a majority of just white students and asian students. As a former student that currently goes to lincoln, there is definitely lots of name callings, social media posts, and rumors that go around about people. But the Lincoln middle school staff does its best to prevent it by educating people in our weekly leadership advisories. Overall i can generally recommend this school to any student who is moving to alameda/thinking about a change of schools.Student Review2mo ago - Check out schools near 116 Bannister Way.

"Great place to grow a family. Very good school, next to the ferry for easy commute to San Francisco. Open spaces, super safe. Easy parking and friendly community."

"Pros: lovely and plentiful lawns and paths to walk around. Most pet owners are cordial and friendly. Wide variety of dogs to make friends with. Houses are big enough for large dogs. Cons: in my opinion, there aren’t enough trash cans for waste disposal among the residences; the vast majority are on the major thoroughfares next to bus-stops. Also - there is the occasional pet owner who can get a bit squeamish around certain larger dog breeds, but this is seldom."

"The neighborhood is very family oriented and is great for starting a family. Everyone is very nice and trustworthy. Bayfarm is a very safe place to live with great schools and food. I’ve lived on bayfarm for 15 years and have enjoyed every moment. Alameda is a fantastic city to be a part of. "

"It is an island physically and it feels like a break from urban life even though high speed city life is literally minutes away."

"I live and work here and I can say that the quiet neighborhood feel with it's trees, open space, walking and biking trails is a peaceful retreat I haven't found anyone else in the Bay Area. Throw in the fact that we're just a 25-30 minute ferry ride to downtown SF, it's a perfect location with low crime and awesome public schools."
