What Locals Say about Lincoln Heights

"Dog owners would like walking their dogs around the neighborhood as the blocks are big enough for good walking distances and there is a park nearby for dogs to run around and play."
- Trulia User
- Resident

"Easy access to public transportation towards DTLA. No chance of making it to OC or IE with out some difficulty. Being close to DTLA, rush hour traffic isn’t easy to beat."

"Unsafe neighborhood with bad public schools. It’s not wise at all to start or raise a family here. "
- Spolan627
- Resident

"If you can look past the run down nature of the houses. The neighborhood has a lot of character. The people keep to themselves but there are a lot of families that live here. It's pretty quiet except when the Ice cream truck rolls by. "
- Meghanmarsala

"There are several green areas to walk your dog to. Lincoln park is a great little pet spot. There are several pet stores in the area"
- Yvette A.

"This neighborhood isnt for those people that don't like fireworks or whose pets are afraid. Theres a lot of noise here. Especially from May-August"
- Stephanie N. D. A.

"There is a lot of grass to walk your dog but there is also a lot of old vegetation that tends to over grow and get stuck to your pet and there is also coyotes here from time to time also a lot of stray cats "
- Jamesgleslie

"Lots of people walk their dogs. Very pleasant during the day. Very different story at night! Dog poo seldomly picked up. Close to hiking path trails and parks. Lots of good grocery stores but not sure if they’re pet friendly. I own a cat but I can tell the neighborhood is cohesively shared with mans best friend. I love it here!"
- Marcella Q.

"There are occasional carnivals. Very fun. They close the street and you ride attractions. They sell tickets and with them you can ride the attractions. "

"Lately for these specific apartments it’s not that great. It’s not well protected and I say this because I have witnessed people breaking in (homeless & drug users). Nobody is actually caring enough when we report these issues. "
- Gomez_juan_07

"It’s getting gender equality for all y’all people who don’t lo like to live in downtown but like to be able to be close to downtown and live the fact that they are outing new bars and caffe shops like Starbucks and Tierra Mia and Lincoln highs cafe and bar that we can go and have fun "

"I live near sacred heart and griffin elementary. Kids walk to and from school with their families. I also saw a lot of families out on Halloween. On the weekends it’s somewhat common to see kids playing outside. "

"I almost got robbed last time I went back to visit. Good thing I know the area and ran through an alley. Some things never change. "

"Not the best/safest neighborhood. I enjoy living so close to DTLA & the delicious taco/corn stands, but that's about it. There are no good grocery stores in the area and I can never tell if it's fireworks going off or gunshots. People are really inconsiderate with how loud they are at night, even on week nights. "
- Demi C.

"I’ve lived here for a year and I love it. It’s away from all the noise but close enough to the more popular areas"

"There are some kids but it’s not the kind of neighborhood where neighbors kids play together. There are regular icecream trucks and vendors around."
- Nena

"I think its gross that their are dog owners who leave their pets doo doo behind day after day, with no consideration for the neighborhood 🤬 the sidewalks are not your dogs personal bathroom. Pick up after your pets! "

"Its a feel good neighborhood with lots to do please don't gentrify it! it has lots of character and the community is fun and the houses are historic one of the oldest communities in Los Angeles "

"Way too expensive!!!!!!!!!!! no rent control. The neighborhood is a not nice for it to ne so expensive. There's crime and police activity often. Walls full of graffiti. The owners do not care for tennants and don't fix anything. It is bad!!!"

"Schools are close by within walking distance. There’s a lot of cultural arts programs in Lincoln Park, from music to dance and art. The area is slowly being gentrified. USC school of medicine and pharmacy is slowly taking over: there are a lot of USC affiliated people moving into the neighborhood."
