What Locals Say about Auburn

  • Jorge Saavedra
"For dog owners specifically, they shouldn’t run into a problem. I do take notice in the fact that a lot of neighbors own pit bulls and with that comes the violent stereotype of aggressive pit bulls. Maybe depending the size of the dog some people might want to steer clear of those with pit bulls and rather go to a dog park or something like that."

"I hear gunshots at least 3 out of 7 nights per week, sometimes more. I know there have been home invasions and drive by shootings very near to where I am. I would not raise a family here. "

"There is hardly any public transportation that makes it up to the reservation. There is one bus very early in the morning and the parking spaces at the train station always fill up, so just plan on driving your car everywhere."

"Lakeland Hills is a beautiful community. We’ve lived here for two years and have loved it! It feels very safe, great for walking, and our kids love the many parks around. Restaurants, gas, and a grocery store are conveniently close. In my opinion, it’s the best neighborhood in Auburn. "

"I've lived in many different parts of Auburn over the past 3 years. Over the years the local area gets worse and worse with homeless people and drug addicts everywhere. there are sirens blaring 24/7, it is not safe to leave packages at your door. my bbq was stolen off of my porch along with a bike and a small padio set. you can not leave your car unlocked for fear of will be raided and or stolen."

"Homelessness and filth abound. Property is trespassed regularly and theft is common. Upkeep of the area is pathetic. Drugs are prevalent. People are rude. Employees with certain institutions take after the vagrants of the street in their conduct and demeanor. Recommend residency elsewhere. "
