What Locals Say about John Ball Park

"Most dog friendly neighborhood in the area. Most people know the dogs name before the people. Very walkable area "

"There are plenty of other dogs in the area, but owners are good at clean up and manners with their dogs. Great area to walk dogs. "

"There is access to public transportation but it’s not close to my house and is inconvenient to try to find a spot to park my car at by the bus stop. Easier to just drive or Uber. "

"Lots of people wandering about. Never had a bad experience but would feel uncomfortable letting children walk to the park across the street unattended."

"I love our neighborhood because everyone is friendly and it’s in a fantastic location! Living across from the zoo provides lots of outdoor entertainment, all while just a 5 minute walk to local pubs and taverns. 20 min walk to downtown, hop on to the express way in less than 3 minutes! "

"I've lived in this neighborhood for 25 years. Beautiful streets with trees and well kept lawns. Not racially diverse but welcoming to anyone. Edison Plaza nearby with takeout, drugstore, drycleaners, hair salon and easy access to expressway. Downtown only 2 miles, zoo, within walking distance. Lots of walkers and some with dogs. Standale not far and Family Fare nearby. I love it here!"

"A great house in a great neighborhood. This is one of, if not the largest lot on Grand Rapids Westsdie (John Ball Zoo neighborhood). With fully updated interior paints, floors, and appliances (all stainless steel); huge bathroom, his and hers sinks, jacuzzi tub & beautiful tile throughout. This restored inside is an exterior that features two driveways, two garages (a 3 stall and a 1.5 stall), all new windows and a recently installed deck. All this fits nicely in the quiet neighborhood of John Ball Park. The park is directly across the street from the house. With easy access to the Kent Trails system, there is more foot and bike traffic on this street than cars. An excellent place to live. Ideal for young professionals, couples and growing families."
