"Sad sad sad neighborhood infested with bugs and horrible homelessness Crisis Prices are ridiculous but owners don’t take care of their buildings "
- Gyasi Wingo-smith
- Resident
- 3mo ago
"It’s the city, so be aware of all of your surroundings. Be familiar with your route. Stay with your children at all times."
- Josue Gonzalez
- Visitor
- 3mo ago
"There is so much crime in this area a lot of homeless people I don’t think people can’t feel safe in this place "
- Kerry L.
- Resident
- 5mo ago
"If the county would do something with the area, it will be much more suitable area for anyone to live. I am not a poor person even though they classify as the poorest area in Los Angeles. But I can tell you. They could definitely do a better job. But the police don't do nothing. It's gonna take community standing up to have something done."
- Trulia User
- Resident

"little green space, except for at the law school. few people pick up after their dogs. but there are a lot of dogs in this area that are very friendly and socialized"
- Trulia User

"There are pieces of trash/broken glass/furniture outside on the streets. Prefer to take my dog elsewhere for a walk."
- Trulia User

"it's calm yet dangerous. you can walk to stores with a calm mind and you'll be safe with all the noises occurring around."
- Trulia User

"Have a lot homeless camping, dirty and no have street clean, dangerous for walking alone definitely I don’t recommend this neighborhood "

- Trulia User
- Resident

"The commute here isn't too bad, but I usually leave around 10am so my experience probably isn't typical."
- Aaronyee9000 E.
- Resident

"Not a safe area for kids to be outside to play. Kids should be under parental supervision at all times when Outside. Not a recommended area to move into"
- Aaronyee9000 E.

"Bad area to live. Smells bad crazy people everywhere people don’t pick up after their dogs. Not recommended to live. "
- Jasmine J.
- Resident

"There are no community events as such. Sometimes there will be free open-air concerts by MacArthur Lake but that’s about it. "
- Joeycresce

"Very rough area. I wish it was sanitized better, park has a lot of potential. Lived here about a year. I like the public transportation option and convenient location."

"Parking is an issue all over LA as a whole when living in apartments. You can manage a spot but sometimes the waiting game can take 15 minutes or more. "
- Lucia C.

"certain parts are nice and certain parts aren't. many homeless around especially at the park. messy and unsanitary "
- Ventura5914
- Resident

"this place has many good things but there are many homeless people and they tend to take up sidewalks with their things. but they don't really bother anyone. "
- Elizabeth L.
- Resident
- 4y ago
"There's many people walking on the side walk at once and tgere isn't much space to walk a dog at a good distance from yourself. Also, several people tend to be scared of larger dogs here as they have children."
- Emily L.
- Prev. Resident
- 4y ago
"Honestly, I don't mean to disrespect anyone but there is nothing unique about MacArthur Park any longer. Its not a safe place for children to grow up in and if you're looking for a calm place where you feel secure, then many of us who have lived here do not recommend it."
- Thetimeisgrey
- Resident

"It’s dirty and gentrification doesn’t seem to happen. I have been living there for almost 8 years. It didn’t get better, just more expensive."
- Marquis M.

"My neighborhood is not dangerous but there is a bit of homeless people around. Not necessarily the cleanest. "
- Jason

- Alexmoguel272727

"Dirty and unsafe homeless drug dealers and crackheads I do not recommend this area at all ............"
- Victoria A.
- Visitor
- 5y ago
"You see people walking their dogs all the time here; mostly small dogs. It seems to be a pretty pet-friendly neighborhood. Although I would use caution walking after dark. "
- Jennifer O.
- Resident
- 5y ago
"Pico Union is in a great location, close to Silverlake, DTLA, Koreatown, etc. It’s definitely growing and is one of the last areas in LA that won’t cost you an arm to rent. That being said, it’s not the safest neighborhood. I don’t like being out after dark. Parking sucks so find a building that has it. "
