What Locals Say about MacArthur Park

  • Emerson Herrera
"Sad sad sad neighborhood infested with bugs and horrible homelessness Crisis Prices are ridiculous but owners don’t take care of their buildings "

"It’s the city, so be aware of all of your surroundings. Be familiar with your route. Stay with your children at all times."

"There is so much crime in this area a lot of homeless people I don’t think people can’t feel safe in this place "

  • Kerry L.
"If the county would do something with the area, it will be much more suitable area for anyone to live. I am not a poor person even though they classify as the poorest area in Los Angeles. But I can tell you. They could definitely do a better job. But the police don't do nothing. It's gonna take community standing up to have something done."

"little green space, except for at the law school. few people pick up after their dogs. but there are a lot of dogs in this area that are very friendly and socialized"

  • Elizabeth L.
"There's many people walking on the side walk at once and tgere isn't much space to walk a dog at a good distance from yourself. Also, several people tend to be scared of larger dogs here as they have children."

  • Emily L.
"Honestly, I don't mean to disrespect anyone but there is nothing unique about MacArthur Park any longer. Its not a safe place for children to grow up in and if you're looking for a calm place where you feel secure, then many of us who have lived here do not recommend it."

"You see people walking their dogs all the time here; mostly small dogs. It seems to be a pretty pet-friendly neighborhood. Although I would use caution walking after dark. "

  • Jennifer O.
"Pico Union is in a great location, close to Silverlake, DTLA, Koreatown, etc. It’s definitely growing and is one of the last areas in LA that won’t cost you an arm to rent. That being said, it’s not the safest neighborhood. I don’t like being out after dark. Parking sucks so find a building that has it. "
