"I ride my bike mostly. Although getting up the hill is tough. I can also ride Bus #33 which stops outside my door. Connects me to the rest of the Muni system."

"I've lived in this neighborhood for 3 years. I would recommend a car to go grocery shopping and similar since no store is walkable easily, other than a small store few blocks away."

"I love my neighborhood, very quite but at the same time close to public transportation and some stores."

"I've lived in the Haight for over 12 years now and absolutely love it. I've got 2 kids who enjoy it as well. Can't beat its central location. Parking can be tough, but that's par for the course in most neighborhoods in this city. So much character here in both the homes, the shops and and residents. "

"The Haight is, without a doubt, one of the most storied neighborhoods in all of San Francisco. As the epicenter of the Summer of Love and subsequent counterculture movement of the '60s and '70s it has a reputation as a free-wheelin', anything-goes type of place. To an extent that rep is accurate. The scent of marijuana smoke is very common, and we have more than our fair share of homeless street kids. That said, we are also a safe and thriving residential neighborhood with great markets, several nearby parks, easy access to public transportation, and beautiful Victorian architecture. There are multiple neighborhood organizations for both residents and merchants, and the people who live here are highly engaged with local politicians and law enforcement."

"I've lived in this neighborhood for 4 months and me and my husband (late 20s) love it so far. The view is amazing and the people are always friendly. The only downside is that you cannot really walk to the nearest grocery store, but if you have a car or you don't mind taking the bus this is not a problem. There are great bookstores around, which is a plus for me."

"Centrally located within the city and with walking access to a large number of restaurants and merchants within the communities that border the Buena Vista Park neighborhood (Upper Haight, Lower Haight, Castro, NOPA, Divisadero corridor, Ashbury Heights, Cole Valley). Buena Vista Park itself is the highlight--one of the oldest and most picturesque parks in the city, it manages to remain accessible with stairways going up and down the steep, wooded hillsides. The name 'Buena Vista' aptly describes the views in all directions (ocean, golden gate, downtown). Take a book, sit on a park bench or enjoy the breathtaking beauty that Buena Vista offers."

"Upper Terrace is the geographical epicenter of San Francisco. Easy freeway access to both 101 and 280. A short 3 miles to the Beach, Marina, Embarcadero, Ferry Building, and Golden Gate Bridge. Incredible views, virtually no traffic, underground power lines. Walk to Munii and public transportation. Easy walk to the shops and restaurants on Haight Street and Cole Valley."
