What Locals Say about Barton Creek
- Rose G.

"I have lived in the Barton Crerk area for over 10 years. It is the safety of the area that drew me to it. I enjoy watching the birds, squirrels, rabbits, and the occasional deer that roam the wooded areas."
- Jake R.

"Almost everyone is super affable and everyone gets along—even all the neighborhood kids tend to play together in one big group. There's plenty to do and the area is gorgeous especially for the price."
- Jake R.
- Resident

"There are plenty of other kids for your kids to get to know and hang out with. The whole place is also very safe crime-wise so you won't have to worry about your kids so much—just know where they are."
- Janet M.

"Nature paths were not implemented as promised, but there are tons of areas to walk dogs as long as the owner is responsible for pet deposits! Also most home lots are large, so if the yard is fenced, there's plenty of space for dogs to roam/exercise."
- Debra M.
- Resident

"Barton Creek has hundred of acres of wilderness winding through all the different communities. This makes it great for hiking and jogging with pets, although there are still coyotes, mountain lions, foxes, and all the other wildlife that are native to Texas."
- Eric W.
- Resident

"There are lots of dog owners in the area, and it's very dog-friendly, as long as you pick up after your dog. The greenbelt area requires dogs to be on a leash."
- Debra M.

"Barton Creek is a unique neighborhood with an array of home and lot sizes. Some are several acres while others are under an acre. Our proximity to shopping, medical facilities, public and private schools, hundreds of acres to hike, a creek to canoe, and wide, manicured roadways make Barton Creek a favorite for biking and jogging."
- Eric W.

"There is an elementary school and a middle school within walking distance. It also has an extensive green belt. It's a nice neighborhood of high-end homes."
- Jake R.
- Resident

"My favorite neighborhood events are the BBQs and dinners that families hold for each other, because it really unites the neighborhood. Most of us know each other by name and talk to each other regularly. The holiday cookie exchange that is hosted by a different family each year is also a blast."
- Eric W.

"The commute is 12 miles, and the traffic is bad. It has gotten worse with time. I used to have a 30-minute commute; now it's 40 or 45."
- Janet M.
- Resident

"More traffic than when we built here in 1993, for sure! Takes at least 5-10 minutes to reach the main road to travel in/out, but it's worth it!"
- Bob C.
- Resident

"Depending on the time of day and day of the week, the commute can be very enjoyable, especially crossing the bridge over Barton Creek on Barton Creek Boulevard. During rush hour, the backup at Wimberly Lane and Barton Creek Boulevard is very slow and congested, making the commute somewhat frustrating."
- Eric W.
- Resident

"It's close to schools, and there are a good number of kids in the neighborhood."
- Janet M.
- Resident

"Safe environment for children to play. Within walking distance of two private schools."
- Bob C.
- Resident

"Barton Creek has two very good private schools that offer a great education. The gated communities offer safe environments for children to play."
- Pat L.
- Resident

"It is a safe and friendly, upscale place to raise a family."
- Don S.

"Great neighborhood feel....lots of neighborhood events within the gated community."
