"I have lived here since 1986. Loved it when My kids grew up here. Historic Overland Park was like a small town with in a bigger city. So we had the best of both we walked to parks, school, shopping, restaurants and the movies. After the work day everything quieted down and it was peaceful. But things are changing now in 2018 and with development upon the neighborhood the city has allow a thousand new high end apartments with in a 6 block radius just to start with. For example we have a 6 story building behind single historic homes. So we’ve become much a more concentrated population. The city approved the Edison building which is presented as a”power and light” type of entertainment venue. The houses behind were not pleased with the idea of all the noise, late nights and new traffic. Let’s hope the development that’s in process is successful because it is a huge amount of change in a small amount of time. It will either fly or dive."
