"I like the area it is a friendly place I like living here. the people are nice and friendly. they look out for one another all the time. it is a fun place to live and enjoy lots of things the neighbors are quite nice and friendly as well I enjoy walking in the park having a good time the people are friendly and very happy to communicate with them. "I have lived in other parts of Johnson County and I believe Merriam is superior to Overland Park and most other suburbs. It's close to downtown and the Plaza and easy access to the airport. It's moderately priced and in my view the best value for the money for single-family home!"

"Not many places to walk your dog; no dog park. There are good vets and pet hotels in the area. Some dog owners do not do a good job of picking up after their dogs. "

"It takes 15-20 minutes to drive to downtown KCMO from Merriam. I-35 is the main way to get downtown, but Shawnee Mission Parkway is a good route to get to places like Westport or the Plaza in 15-20 minutes."
