Underwood Elementary School

Overall, I have had one child who has struggled there academically as well as having many friend issues. These did not improve and this year she has started middle school. But she did always admire her teachers. And my other child who still attends there, he is thriving in all ways possible. And he is the one I once worried about. So it really is difficult to say for sure. Each child is different and has different needs and all those individual needs have to be attended to with the care, compassion, and well being of that whole person to help them become the very best they can be.

Run, this school will not do diddly poo about your childs safety (even when a valid claim is made and confimed as valid). Principal is a joke, loves to deflect and share nothing. Will talk a good game, but not even excute what they claim they'll do moving forward.Will literally not separate two children, into separate classrooms, after sexual harassment occurs. I would never recommend this place, and I wish a 0 star option was available.Apparently they will all vacate the school even by 3:50 on the last day of a holiday week and leave you hanging to the following Monday.

Our family has two children currently enrolled at our Redeemer with a third on the way next year. We feel like we are truly part of the O.R. family. They go above and beyond.

Bully’s paradise. I went here almost 38 years ago. I was bullied every day and the teachers didn’t care. If you fought back, you were blamed. Forced to spend 8 years here. I suppose I received a basic education, but man did I hate it.

As a student, I often felt ignored by the teachers. When I was clearly struggling, they didn’t seem to care or notice. When I was being bullied, even after mentioning it, they didn’t do anything about it.The teachers are great at teaching, but when it comes to the personal care of students, they lack at it.I learned a lot, but I also gained a lot of negative memories.I graduated recently, and my overall thought is this: You go there to learn, happiness isn’t the main priority.

My daughter was at Montessori for 12 years, starting with daycare. She blossomed there. Like most children, she had an individual learning style that involved much quicker learning in some areas than others. The individualized approach, along with grouping children together in three grade segments, worked for her in a way that she would not have had access to in a regular school environment. She was allowed to work more slowly in areas that difficult for her, while being gently encouraged to approach them. She was allowed to work more quickly in areas that were easier for her, which gave her a sense of pride and accomplishment. She learned how to organize her time. She learned how to persist. I know there was at least one incident when she was indirectly bullied. I never heard the full story because the school intervened quickly and changes were made that prevented this from happening again. I only learned from another parent, and I believe it involved some written materials. But they protected my daughter. I am eternally grateful to MMS for nurturing of both her intellect and her self-esteem, as well as her character and self discipline. It was worth every penny we spent on this stellar school.
