Ace Charter School

Hoover School has always been a very special place. It gets a bad rap from sites like this. The school has the highest population of SES and IEP students in the district. This effects the overall scoring of the students. Hoover has produced 3 perfect ACT scoring students in the last 6 years! The teaching staff and principal are nothing short of incredible. Their dedication, support and love of education is infectious! Unfortunately the district(Mary Pfieffer) fought hard to close this school in 2024. The reasoning behind it was weak and riddled with hidden agendas. Once the vote was squeaked through, the top two district administrators bailed ship fast. It's a shame this wonderful school is being shuttered for such ridiculous reasons.

This school has an outdated culture of powerless students. As a parent of a student that has attended Wilson for over three years, I have witnessed teachers berating students several times, resistance to collaboration, and a general apathy about forward thinking. Many classrooms are drab, the staff's attire is often sloppy, and playground equipment has been broken for over a year. While my child does well overall, he struggles in a few subjects. As an educator myself with four older children, I have yet to convince the teacher that my child needs additional help. The top down culture at this facility is in need of a change to raise the level of the staff to a place that will ensure these children are prepared for today's world.

I have had 4 kids go to school here. They are absolutely amazing they work so hard to work with me and my children 3 of who have had ieps thru them. And one who started having behavioral issues. I couldn't sit here and praise them more than the joy and pride I feel in my younger 2 who still go their in knowing they are well taken care of mental emotional and with their disabilities or behavioral issues. They try to make you feel welcomed in coming to them if your having an issue and work hard to accommodate every child with what they are going thru. Thank you to the staff here our family absolutely loves you guys and appreciate everything you guys do for us and every other family.

This is one of the best schools I've ever seen. I love this school.

I absolutely LOVE the new principal at St. Mary! She is so great with the kids, fun and firm when she needs to be. The staff makes everyone feel welcome...and Deb at the front desk is just the best! My kids come home every day happy and excited to tell me about their day. Great morals are being taught and their music program is AMAZING! We started using their Scrip program right away to help reduce our tuition and I am really surprised at how affordable tuition is. Definitely sending all of my children through this system!

St. Mary Catholic School System is not a good place to work. Very unethical administration, low pay, and little to no support for students with special needs. I would not recommend.
