Montello Jr/Sr High School

Being a 2021 graduate from this school and getting a few years of college under my belt has made me realize how terrible Montello Jr./Sr. High really is. Sure you may be prepared if you're going to flip burgers your whole life, but if you're going to college, you will have a bad time guaranteed. There's a reason not many people leave Montello after they graduate. It's because they prepare you for nothing after high school. Not to mention the students there learn with Chromebooks, it sounds ridiculous but it's true. Being able to do whatever you want on the Chromebooks provided a huge distraction me and my classmates. I cannot believe this is how we teach kids now. Looking at the statistics for my school makes me depressed. Take a guess on how many people went to college after high school in my class? Twelve. Now guess how many are still in college? Five. This goes to show that this school is terrible at getting kids ready for college. If you plan to have your kids be successful, enroll them to any other school around here. Our motto is "Hilltopper Pride", but it should just be "Hilltopper" because there is no pride here...

I think every school has it's ups and it's downs. As a student in her second year of high school. I think that I can inform the public what Montello Jr/Sr high school is really all about. Over the years our school is really trying to change for the better. We have great teachers even, if some just use our school as a stepping stone for something better. Then there are the teachers that has been here forever. Mr. Huan a math teacher, has been here for 32 years. He is a super committed to what he does and most of the teachers here are the same. Mr. Broud is my advisory teacher, he always starts my day great. Mr. Broud is always cheerful and ready for every day. I think our main problem in our school is the "higher powers" something my old history teacher Mr. Lloyd said a lot. I think some of them just need to leave which, would help our school A LOT. But not our principal Mr. Harsh. He is a hard working guy and enjoys his job. Mr. Harsh believes that every student is good kid, just some of them choose the wrong path. There are also good factors about the school like Chrome Books that every student gets. Which helps with classes that we need to write papers or when do our every day assignments . Plus this year the staff had worked hard to make our schools motto time to climb since we are hill-toppers it makes sense. If a student has one missing assignment they go to the climb room during lunch and keep going until they don't have missing assignments. Which will help the students learning to become better. I'd say the best improvement this year is lunch. We had gotten a new foods director and she is doing great!! I love my lunches now the other day we had mac and cheese and it was delicious. They also have a salad bar and a sub hub where we can built our own subs. All this is a major improvement. Montello Jr/Sr high school is moving forward and becoming a place I actually like.

The teachers are not fun and don't care about anything i cant even listen to music at lunch out loud and the food is terrible it either tastes like cardboard or plastic. i mean there is good teachers like Mr.O he is amazing. some teaches purposely fail you because they hate you and just don't care and that is being a but influences on the kids. and all the money that the money it goes to stuff and like teachers that don't even need it and they gave the students chrome books and blocked everything so the kids can go on anything at all.
