Read what parents are saying about Merton Primary SchoolMy daughter has had an amazing experience so far and absolutely loves going to school. She has excelled at a tremendous pace and her teachers have a high level of communication with the parents. We feel so fortunate that our daughter has an opportunity to attended the Merton School District.
Posted by a parent on 6/18/2023My child loves to go to school every day. We are impressed by Merton Primary!
Posted by a parent on 5/24/2023I have two boys that attend Merton Primary and they are excited to go to school everyday. They both are graduates of the speech program and do great on state tests.
Posted by a parent on 4/25/2022This school is terrible for special needs. While the therapists have been great, the special education has been awful. My son struggled for 2.5 years and they kept blaming him. I even took him to Children’s to their Child Development Clinic where he was diagnosed as intellectually disabled. The school still didn’t change their approach until they brought in their own consultant. The staff is inexperienced and doesn’t know how to handle special needs. The administration is even worse. They could care less about the special needs kids. They are always an afterthought. They make changes and policies that don’t work for special needs and don’t care. Stay far away from this school!
Posted by a parent on 9/24/2020We moved to this district because we had heard great things about the principal and because they have a larger (i.e, more inclusive) student body. We previously came from a district that had very little and poor special education support. We have been very pleased with the willingness of this school to work with us, and to meet the needs of our child who struggles with severe mental health issues, but is also highly intelligent. Mr. Budisch, the principal, is amazing! It is obvious he cares about all the students, and his staff as well. There is only one reason a person with his experience stays in the same role for so long: he truly loves it! And it shows. We have also worked extensively with Mrs. Day, as well as our son's primary teacher. Both are wonderful and genuinely interested in supporting our child and helping our child succeed.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent of 4 boys, my overall opinion is such. Good intentions with unintended negative results. Cliques are a problem. Bull horn used to yell at kids in lunchroom. Curriculum too easy for majority of the students. Average public school with average results.Student Review7y ago - Richmond Elementary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter goes to Richmond and likes the teachers and students there. The school puts a lot of efforts to straighten the communications and interactions with parents, so that I am kept updated with what's going on in her class and the school. The school uses different tools to enrich students' academic, social and emotional experience at school as well as home. The teachers provides students and parent resources to help each individual to be successful. Per the School Report Card for 2017, Richmond received highest Overall score, highest Student Achievement score and highest closing gaps score in 5 years. It is a great school!Parent Review6y ago - Swallow Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSwallow Elementary is amazing. They should change the school name to Swallow Academy. The staff is top notch, the academic rigor is top notch, the facilities are top notch and the surrounding area is amazing - best place I can think of to raise a family. The school prepares students well for Arrowhead High School. The combination of Swallow Academy (Swallow Elementary) and the University of Arrowhead (Arrowhead High School) will truly prepare your son or daughter to be anything they want to be in life.Parent Review2y ago - North Lake Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have had 3 children at this school, two of which have required special education services. The school has failed to provide FAPE repeatedly. They have been caught manufacturing IEP data, they continue to take a punitive approach vs. providing evidence based positive reinforcement (particularly grades 5 and up), they have failed to communicate changes in special education staff to both parents and students leaving students completely unsupported in navigating change, and are resistant to common evidence based accommodations that require staff to provide individualized supports, and (just as the cherry on top) a staff member (and part of the IEP team) stated that my son had a "Rain Main mentality," I finally made the choice to pull my daughter from the school after fighting for my son for nearly 5 years because I have grown tired of fighting the administration at every turn for what my child is legally entitled to. Administration is unhelpful at best and dishonest and damaging at worst.Parent Review7mo ago - St Charles Parish School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI can only give our experience 3 stars as this was our first year here and unfortunately very under impressed with the classroom, dedication to understanding each individual child, ourdated teaching methods and more. Strong sense of community was a plus but overall was hoping for more.Parent Review6y ago - Zion Lutheran School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would not recommend this school to anyone; it is not how it used to be. For example, the teachers aren't kind, and their teaching is lazy. The students gossip about everything, leading to lower self-esteem. Don't send your child to this school unless it changes. My child did not have a good experience at this school.Parent Review2y ago - University Lake School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf there was a "Schools that Change Lives" list for K-12, ULS would be on it for sure. ULS is not just a great school academically, but it is also unique in terms of its environmental vibe, sense of community & belonging, and focus on leadership, social-emotional development, growth-mindset and agency. My daughter started in Lower School (fourth grade) and continued through graduation. It was a wonderful place for her as well as our whole family. She is now in a top university and the investment at ULS paid for itself. Regardless, I wouldn't trade her experience at ULS for anything. It was some of the best years of our lives.Parent Review4mo ago
