Eagle School

Your kid will not be safe here. This is a disgusting establishment that allowed my autistic nephew to be punched and pushed down repeatedly for months. My nephew did tell his teacher what was happening, and she failed to do her job, instead telling him to "tell them to knock it off," which is ridiculous! My nephew said he says it in a very scary voice, but the kids do not listen, BECAUSE OF COURSE THEY DON'T, THEY NEED TO HEAR IT FROM AN ADULT! This has been completely heartbreaking for me because he will never tell us anything about his days at school, and the first time he does, this is what he tells us. I have contacted the school and the school board regarding the issue, but I have not received a response. This is a gross way to handle business, especially when your main goal is to keep our children safe. I will be contacting the police, and I wanted to warn others of the true colors of this "school."

We moved schools for my son, all is good in DLI but for studnets of color who are in the ELI program or students with behavioral needs they are pushed to the sides. Staff cares but the violence and behavioral problems are deeply concerning. Equity is a huge problem at this school. Restorative justice is not being implemented in an affective fashion.

I went to this school when I was a kid; and my kids go here now this school is amazing I love how they take extra security they take to the building I feel so much comfort sending my kids here all the teachers are amazing

I have low stars of this school is because I fill the teacher does not really help me on helping my kids academically. My kids are happy which is good. But, I do not know what they have learned and what are their weakness. If I don't know that, how do I help them. I understand that test score is not everything, but it might be important to someone. I still believe test scores are important otherwise why is it still exist?? Teachers of my kids are very nice, but does not help me or understand the way to help my kids to improve on English and Math in particular. I strongly believe that English and Math are the fundamental. You need English to read and learn other things and math to help you have a better finance aspect in your life. I have been contacting school teachers on helping my kids on national standard tests and very few help are provided. I can easily google search those helps myself. The school is good, but I would highly appreciated that they can focus more academically (English and Math).

Pros: involved families, nice building, some wonderful teachers but several are leaving after this year so hard to say what following year will beCons: lackluster curriculum (star360 scores dropped dramatically for our students after switching to a classical curriculum), teachers don’t stay, families don’t stay, principal lacking in leadership skills and basic communication, weak policies, lack of resources in assisting students with learning needs, overall supervision of students, principal doesn’t anticipate needs and is often dismissive when concerns arise

Our daughter loves Mrs. Kattre’s kindergarten class! She’s always telling us how much she likes going to school. I just asked my daughter right now as I wrote this, “what is it that you like about Mrs. Kattre and her class?” My daughter replied “EVERYTHING!” That about sums it up. :)Keep it up the great work, Forest Edge Elementary and Mrs. Kattre. Our daughter is so happy there and it shows every day. She’s also progressing by leaps and bounds each week and it’s amazing to see her learning and intellectual progress. Thank you so much for all you do with our children!
