Athens High School

Athens is a great place to be. I came here a few years ago and the community is so welcoming. The School District of Athens seems to be very innovative and creative. When I came here a few years ago, it seemed like Athens was the only rural School District around that was advocating for one-to-one devices in the classroom. Since then, every student has a one-to-one device and more and more classrooms are being updated to the newest technology available. The teachers are kind and caring as well. They will bend over backwards for parents and students. I came here because of the small town atmosphere. It's so refreshing! Even though Athens is smaller, they are consistently moving forward. The sports here aren't bad either. The volleyball team made it to state this year, while the track team made it to state two years ago. The football team made it deep into the playoffs a few years ago, and the cross country team has really been coming on the last few seasons by consistently sending more and more athletes to state as well. Wrestling continues to dominate the mat year in and year out as well. All in all, Athens is a great place to be and a great place to raise a family. I would highly recommend Athens to anyone.

Rate this school it is low on the totem pole. I wouldn't send my dead dog here if it was the last school around. Staffing is poor coaching is poor and privacy is poor in school. Never again will I support this school and the decisions it wants to make. The can't keep track of the students they have and then go and harass parents after looking out for student safety. Takes a community to raise a child in the town then I guess it takes a community to keep that child's butt in the school too. Eat your own words and practice what you preach.

Quality small town school district. Teachers and staff are caring and well qualified. Parents are friendly and care about their childrens education. Athens community has come together to pass a referendum a few years ago to help financially. Athens has been doing very well in a number of sports the last few year and should continue with a number of very good/caring coaches. School buildings are a little out dated but, overall, a very nice school and happy with my kids education so far.
