Posted by a parent on 9/19/2018The apple 1 teacher is worthless. she shows strong favortism towards other students and parents, does not teach her class like a teacher should, alaways on her phone, the list is very long needs to be replaced and she needs aa meetings

You might do like I did and talk to the principal and get shunned as well and be told how bad of a person your child is. I highly recommend to

The principal is a joke and his a approach of discipline should have cost him his job along with the the schools counselor. She most likely received her degree through an online course which would explain her profess
Posted by a parent on 3/6/2015My child has gone to Garfield from K-6. Everything has been great up until this last year. Her 6th grade teacher has just been the worst. Now I am counting down the days until summer starts so my child doesn't get screamed at or treated badly anymore.

A disgusting principal who calls children tattle tales and tried to explain the difference between reporting and tattling while also explaining that children are at fault when they get bullied. How can you report misconduct when you are called a tattletale. They have a counselling program that actively helps kids with issues and learning disabilities and I really appreciate that. NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThey fired the principal who everyone loved suddenly, without any discussion with the parents, then the pastor left, and the vice principal left. Also they took advantage of us during the coronavirus by continuing to charge parents, plus getting money from the government. Our child was only there for 2 months but we ended up paying for 10 months plus mandatory donations. It is so sad, we had such high hopes for this school but it just cost us a lot of money. 7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs someone who attended this school for 7 years, I can say that if you want your child to grow up to be a self sufficient and independent teenager/adult, this school is great. This school shaped the person I am today and I firmly believe that if I had gone to a different school I would not have been as successful as I am. One of My main criticism for this is school is the ratio of students to teacher (30-1 in my experience) because at times is definitely limited how much individual attention and aid you could get from your teachers. I guess you could also see the positives in that as it can teach you to use critical thinking and solve your own issues, but it can be challenging if you are not that kind of person. While at times I did not love attending this school, I think in the long run it really will help your child become a self motivated and open minded person.Other Review2y ago
