Read what parents are saying about Cascade Middle SchoolExtremely positive experience, the staff and teachers are caring and helpful
Posted by a parent on 3/14/2020Our son had a wonderful experience at Cascade. We are looking forward to sending our daughter there. She is in the highly capable program and we are pleased with the direction in which Cascade is heading.
Posted by a parent on 6/9/2018The administration has no authority over the students. I would never send my child to Cascade. Disruptive students are allowed to destroy the learning environment with little consequence. There is no Honors or accelerated programs.
Posted by a community member on 3/10/2018Fantastic! This really is a great school. The staff is wonderful. They really care and put a lot into the students. Do not judge this school based on the looks of the building (because it is bad/old) and take the test scores with a grain of salt. As mentioned before....English is not the primary language. So trying to take a test in not your 1st/primary language is ridiculous at best. I would love to see anyone who is 'complaining' about this school actually volunteer and spend a few days at the school to really understand what it is all about. They also just started a PTSA to help parents, students, staff and community to connect. Great opportunity for everyone. Very happy with my experience at this school. Looking forward to my younger one coming to this school as well.
Posted by a parent on 10/25/2017I am so so glad that my child is not going to be at this school anymore. First off some of the teachers say one thing to the parents but do something completely different in class with the students. Second you complain that your student is being bullied and they do a little slap on the wrist to the people bulling. No real consequences at all. The students have to wear uniforms but the teachers can wear whatever even if it is not appropriate. There is no 8th grade graduation or any acknowledge of the 8th graders going to middle school. But what is the worst is the fees that need to be paid either thru out the school year or at the end of the year before getting their child's yearbook that a parent never even knows about or agrees too. And they tell the parents 2 or 3 days before school is out so the parents have to scramble to get it paid or no year book. . WORSE SCHOOL EVER. Do not send your child here is you value your child's education.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy chid has endured mental anguish at the hands of not one, but two teachers at this school. When I've tried to raise the issue, I am told to work it out directly with the teacher. One teacher in particular often keeps the children in from recess as a punishment for unfinished work or for not conforming to responsibilities of the classroom. These are children of a certain technological age who have a much shorter attention span and are consuming information at a greater speed than other generations. Some grace, patience and empowerment goes a long way with them. Punishment by taking away a brain break does not help them do better.Parent Review1mo ago - White Center Heights Elementary

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe love WCH. My daughter has been having a tough time adjusting to school and having some behavioral issues. Her teachers and the principal, Dr. Reese, have worked really well with us to help our daughter. I can tell they truly love and care for these kids and will do whatever it takes to help a student succeed. I love the staff of WCH and feel we are lucky to have them!Parent Review6y ago - St. Bernadette School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThree plus years ago, we were researching schools for our daughter to start Kindergarten. We went to an OPEN HOUSE, heard a great talk by Principal Temme, met some teachers and parents, and decided to have Annika start with Holy Family. 3 years later, we cannot think of any other school for her to be at until the 8th grade. Great faculty, active parents and local community, and an updated renovation of the school itself are just some of the reasons to give this a 5 star rating it deserves. The school takes ownership of every one of the students, and provides a safe and nurturing environment for all. The bilingual aspect is a piece of this as well, and Annika enjoys reading, writing and speaking in Spanish . Double thumbs up from the Obrien family, and GO FALCONSParent Review10mo ago - Shorewood Christian School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI went to this school for one year. It's a fear based curriculum that is wildly intolerant of the LGBT+ community, we had a whole school assembly about Katy Perry's song, 'I kissed a girl and I liked it.' Fear based lectures for bible study, abstinence only health education. Biology was a joke as they use faith based textbooks that literally say, "Because God created it that way." Instead of explaining the science behind biology. One 8th grader didn't even know how read a clock. Half of PE was just walking around the parking lot. Guardians have to sign a waiver allowing corporal punishment. There is no Special Ed and the teachers repeatedly lose patience and yell at kids who aren't neurotypical. This school is a joke.Other Review1y ago - The Community Of West Seattle
