Explorer has been one of the best decisions we’ve made for our kids. The teachers don’t just know their students — they truly see them. The mixed-age classrooms, hands-on projects, field trips, it brings learning to life in ways that a traditional school simply can’t. Parent involvement is real here

This is our 5th year at explorer with 2 kids and i would continue to enroll my children here and still recommend it to others. Although just like everything it is not a perfect fit for everyone Explorer is what you make it. Explorer needs
Posted by a parent on 5/14/2026Terrible school that is a glorified kindergarten. This much volunteering for a school that has no PTSA and is second-hand crumbs to the larger school?No proper specialty classes and parents have their cliques.

I am utterly exhausted from the mandatory volunteering needed at Explorer. I have been driving kids to field trips at 10 am! Volunteered for math class at 11 am! Cooked for fall event, paid mandatory $3

The individualized attention and care each student receives is apparent. For example, during our most recent spring parent teacher conferences, every one of my kids' core and specialist teachers had insights into their classroom strengths. They also had wonderful suggestions for growth (i.e. a supplemental challenge math program for my 5th grader, an extracurricular leadership opportunity for my 8th grader, advice for high school coursework, etc.).
