Read what parents are saying about Oak Harbor Intermediate SchoolI think this school is underrated. The staff is very loving and concerned with their students well being. The school needs to work on racial issues and have a firmer standard against racist slurs and actions. The special Ed department goes above and beyond for their students. They create a positive and equitable school experience especially life skills. Thank you for all the staff and what they do for the students. The principal should be very proud.
Posted by a community member on 1/13/2023This is a very strong school. We get great communication from parents and the school through their email messaging system and website. Online grading and tracking of assignments helps us know what is going on with our child. The seem to run a tight ship - which I appreciate. Teachers are solid and they have some great athletic and activity programs, too. They have a great PTA, too - one of the best I've seen

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy children started at OHE in Kindergarten. We liked the teachers so much that we chose to keep them there even after moving to another schools area. The teachers really seem to care about the kids, even years after they are no longer in their classroom. OHE uniforms make it easy for the kids to decide what to wear. N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI don't know how this school would get a low rating. The teachers are attentive and caring, and the curriculum is outstanding. By 1st grade my daughter was doing Powerpoint presentations! They go on field trips to plays and regularly visit the beach to play or pick up trash, visit a retirement home and go the library. In public school she was boxed in by her grade even if she had the capacity to reach further. With Montessori she is able to extend as far as she needs to feel challenged and happy. The school is open to parents in every capacity and I never feel as if I don't know what's going on with her. N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSmall class sizes, dedicated teachers and parent involvement allow OHCS to offer a premium experience and education for our child. The teachers are there because it is their calling and the children are expected to have manners and learn (while still being able to enjoy being a kid). If you value small class sizes and knowing your children are being taught to the highest levels of academic's with the loving hand of God, this school is worth considering. It is my opinion that almost all private schools bear some benefit vs public because when a parent is paying for their children's education, they tend to be much more involved in said education.
