Lakeside Middle School

Terrible school, my child started in this district in kindergarten and as soon as they entered the Middle School it was the worst experience ever imaginable. Constant bullying and not just social/emotional. My child was physically assaulted on more than one occasion, it was recorded on other students phones and on the school cameras. The principal is worthless and should never be allowed to be around children or in a teaching environment. The principal dismissed every complaint and blamed our child that is on the ASD. Even when my child was getting physically assaulted by 3 other students outside at lunch and 2 par-educators stood 15 feet away (this was caught on the school cameras) and nobody but ONE upperclassman intervened at the end when my child was trying helplessly to get away. The teachers let bullying take place and many will say “bullying is a strong word, I don’t think that is what you mean”. If you want a school where safety, your child’s emotional and mental health is PRIORITY. Look elsewhere!! This school will NOT protect your child and will not look out for those that may be more vulnerable or are special needs.

I would rate this school very poorly over all, not much was learned while my child was here and the bullying was so intense that many of my child's friends considered the absolute worst thing thankfully with OUT OF SCHOOL HELP the children got the help they required over all i wouldn't send a child here in the future

Wonderful school district with committed caring staff through all levels from elementary to high school.

The worst principal in America what a horrible monster. I think the part which gets me the most is just how many parents have complained about his antics and nothing is done about it. If a complaint is filed his malicious retaliation is without end and he will not only target the impacted student but their up and coming siblings. Buyer beware don't put your kids in Lakeside Middle School the life you save may very well be their own.

Had nothing but problems at this school. On our daughter's first day, she was interrogated by the principal about her behavior at her previous school (she was never in trouble and grades were A's and B's- I believe these questions were raised because of the city we moved from) Also the principal seems to be okay with girls being harassed by boys in his school. We were told in a conference with him that this was normal behavior in a middle school, and added that he was extremely overextended since he did not have a vice principal (with only just a little over 400 students? Really?). When we took issue with an incompetent teacher we were told we were the only ones that had complained, then later found out from 5 other parents that they had also complained (teacher frequently lost turned-in work from students, which, in turn, never got entered in the grade book ALL YEAR LONG-this teacher was eventually given a non-teaching position at the high school). I have witnessed this principal scream in a student's face in front of the entire school as well. Unless your child is a BOY and HEAVY INTO SPORTS, look elsewhere for your child's education!
