Read what parents are saying about Lydia Hawk Elementary SchoolNo supervision at drop-off and pick up. It's a mess! Today, after walking my kiddo into class--I saw two young boys walk out of the school and wander around the sidewalk. There was no teacher or anyone supervising the outside area or monitoring the door despite some of the drop-offs being small kindergarteners. I took it upon myself to walk them back in and practically had to yell to get the attention of the front desk for help.

Posted by a parent on 4/26/20185 stars! All 4 of my kids have attended Lydia Hawk. Because of the high english language learners, it gets a bad rap from test scores. Look at the growth the students have. These are highly dedicated teachers and staff who not only love their job, but want to see the students grow. Go visit, sit in a classroom, before you pass judgement.
Posted by a parent on 6/8/2017I will like to say that a school is a good school when Parent/Teachers/ Principal work together for the benefit of the student, Because after all the student is our main goal. To have a student achieved every year during the school year it takes both parties in order to have this accomplish. That meaning to share work done on school with parent or guardian. Encourage the student to practice, do homework.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGreat school, amazing teachers and staff. They truly believe all children are capable of success, NO EXCEPTIONS! Much less homework than another area school some of my 5 children have gone too, not quite as academically rigorous but they focus on developing the whole kid. My middle child has autism, several kids make it a point to say hi everytime they see my child. The special Ed group is amazing, and have found a way make a gen ed classroom work for my child and others. If not for their hard work on our behalf, my child would have had to transfer to another school, something I am very grateful we didn't do... I try to make sure all my kids are treated as equally as possible, if he had to go to a different school than everyone else, it would have destroyed what self confindence he does have. Years ago life skills classes were moved to another school, but have started again for younger grades. It is a good option to have available, I for one am glad it is back! It may not be the most rigorous, but everyone has the support they need to do well, whatever that looks like. Plus kids are taught to be caring and compassionate! A good mix of backgrounds, and the school tries find ways to celebrate them all.Parent Review1y ago - Seven Oaks Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI found this amazing school during the pandemic and it was truly a life changer for our family. After my daughter major struggles with online learning during COVID we found Faith providing in class instruction. Their staff helped me and my daughter discover and then adapt to a dyslexia diagnosis. Although they do not offer a special Ed program the small class size and amazing staff provided catered individual education assistance and accommodation for her. She went from reading 0-10 words a minute to 85 within a year. Her twin brother wanted to try public school this year after 3 years at Faith- he is way ahead of peers and is hoping he can return next year for the wonderful 5th grade program they have! My other son started at Pre School and is now in 1st Grade. I love how communicative his teachers have been and how well they have adapted to the challenges this age group has had due to COVID. FLS have more days in class than my kids in public school and a very active school board and parent support. Although small I find that they really work to provide diverse wholesome experiences for the kids. Their is religion provided but more emphasis on just good values of respect and kindness. I know there are kids with various religious backgrounds that attend and it is always welcoming. Overall their cost is less to many of the programs offered but you get all of what they offer: art, sports, and music. As I have kept in touch with almost all the parents I have heard them note that the time their kids spent at Faith really set a strong foundation for their kids whether a year or they went thru middle schoolParent Review6mo ago - Paramount Christian Academy
