Vista Middle School

I will never have my child go to this school again because of the experience they had here. There is drug and alcohol abuse as well as bullying. It is definitely not the experience I want my child to have growing up. The school also deals with racism. To colored students, they get treated worse and not as equals to everyone else. They also have problems with sexism. When the staff are disobeyed by students they defend themselves by coming up with racist or sexist slurs and when called out for it they deny the whole thing.

This school is struggling with racism. It will punish students of color at much higher rates for the same behavior as their white students. Parents can expect retaliation and threats when bringing up concerns to the school. If a student tries to point out where a teacher said something racist, the school's response is to kick the student out of the class. This school might be great for white families, but is terrible to families of color.
