The school system is great, although food wise the main foods are most of the time always unhealthy and include bread in all the meals, only source of other food is the sides which you can only have so much of

Loved the journey to get here. We started out with preschoolers. The district has a great reputation. The pre, elementary and middle schools were great. We were stunned that there was such disappointing lack in the overall experience at the top level in the district. From the transition out of middle school throughout the entire first year it was an excuse filled lack of accountability, no follow through, to go along with teachers ruling their mini fiefdoms for their own ease an pleasure regardless of IEPs, 504, or administrative directives. We withdrew and pursued other options. Having experienced public and private education on the East coast, the Southwest, and more, this was more on par with high-school in the Last Frontier, a lot of potential sadly wasted.

Dphs is incredibly effective for preparing my child for life after high school. The staff are well trained and care about kids. In fact, the school has more national board certified teachers than many comparable schools in the region . My child is challenged, yet enjoys going to school because of the teachers he/she has. I don't know about teaching , etc. but I have full confidence in the teachers at deer park high school.

As a parent and Deer Park community member, I appreciate the broad range of programs offered in these tough economic times. DPHS's mission is to serve ALL students by supporting learning disabled and struggling students, general education students, and gifted students. Classes assisting students with successfully completing WA's alternative Collection of Evidence assessment system as well as College in the Classroom classes where students earn credit from Eastern and Central Washington Universities speak highly of the range of educational opportunities. Athletic programs are becoming increasingly competitive in football, soccer, basketball, and cross country, culminating with the wrestling program which has won its fifth straight 2A state championship. The music program has blossomed and now boasts professional level orchestra, jazz band, drum line, concert choir, and jazz choir. Teachers at DPHS are all engaged in the professional learning community process and committed to continuous improvement. The administration is focused on providing a safe and supportive environment with a wide range of opportunities. DPHS is a good place to be.
