Middletown Springs Elementary School

10/10. The amount of variety of "little extras" this school offers is outstanding. From the school garden (the talented lunch staff creates the most delicious, fresh and nutritious meals I've ever seen in a school), composting and recycling to the many field trips and artists in residence, this school goes above and beyond. Staff is very responsive to the concerns of a parent and needs of each child. Outstanding collaborative efforts in addressing the unique needs of each child. Would recommend this school above all others.

This is a wonderful school within an exceptional community. Given the small size of the school, the programs are tailored to the needs of the children. Parents and the community are very involved in the school. Excellent before and after school programs, athletic and music programs, as well as clubs are provided to enrich the children's experience. I highly recommend this gem!

I am not encouraged by some of the curriculum taught here. I feel that it is lacking in a couple of areas, history and basic math skills. The Every Day math program makes it hard to help your child when they're struggling with homework. The community is very involved and parental support is amazing. The school is small and can not address every child's special needs, especially if your child has minor difficulties that don't lead to a significant losses in knowledge. If your child doesn't fall behind enough their needs don't get addressed in this small school. I had to take my daughter to private tutoring for 2 years for help.
