Danville School

If you child has ANY special needs do NOT choose this school. If your child does not excel in sports do not choose this school. If you child is awkward in any way, this is not the environment for them. I also thought a small school would be great for my children. Wrong. Bullying is alive and well at Danville School.

This past year at Danville has been a very difficult one for the community. A young, inexperienced HS principal, an older experienced elementary principal, and a last-year before retirement superintendent did not mesh together at all. It seemed as though there was a great deal of support for the elementary principal, who brought in many new ideas and gave the K-6 teachers a lot of help. At the same time, the HS principal and superintendent were charged by police with bad practices, and the school board allowed all sorts of administrative problems to occur. Lots of staff and teachers seem very upset with how things are going. We now have to start yet again (fourth time in 7 years I think) with two new principals and a new superintendent. I hope my children get the appropriate leadership at Danville that they deserve; they did have it with the prior elementary principal, but she resigned, I think because of all that happened this past year. Whatever school gets her will be very lucky.

I love the how Danville has opened so many doors for him and have welcomed him with open arms . Danville school is very organized has great community that are all was ready to help and work together for the better of the children and community!

Danville School has the potential of being a great school as changes are currently taking place. There is a lack of discipline because teachers have not been supported by the current high school principal. A new administration has been put in place for next year and I see that as an excellent start. Holding teachers and students accountable is what this school needs. This school has excellent support by the community. As changes are made to the curriculum and method of teaching, I see Danville becoming a 5 in the next few years.

Danville School is an outstanding Pre K- 12 grade school. My children will have had 15 years of a consistent schooling experience. This school keeps up with the changing times in education, and it is expected that every child will learn. The staff is engaging in coursework to keep current with technology, teaching strategies, and curriculum development. They are very fortunate to have a new principal who is leading the school in a forward direction.
