7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers and staff at this school are absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately, the administration does not match their level of excellence. Students are punished excessively for small offenses. Teachers and families fear retaliation for speaking out. Sadly, seasoned educators and some students have left the school as a result of these and other leadership concerns.Other Review6mo ago13 Reviews - Fairfield Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt could be an okay school if ALL of the teachers were good to the children, but they are not. The principle treats us like 5-year-olds and has no respect for us. The school is very cheap and not clean AT ALL. It is literally falling apart everywhere. Our principal and vice principal and most of the teachers are not very nice, they don't understand kids at ALL. The school was much better 2 years ago, when the principal and staff were different. I do not recommend this school. They are lucky with the 2.Student Review4w ago13 Reviews - Kempsville Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe first year our child was in this school for preK it was awesome. After that the decline started. First off the front office staff have to be the rudest and laziest bunch I've ever encountered. It really was a nightmare dealing with this group and almost anything they could push off on the teachers they would. Most of the time I found myself having to message teachers for administrative issues. It was ridiculous. It seemed like one year we would have an engaging teacher and the next one that would be absent more times than present. I have to second a review I read above sending the chromebooks hone everyday with the children while they were in school. Then requiring parents to pay for any repairs. Really seemed like a way for that part of the budget to be put on the backs if the parents. A few years into our child attending it was brought to our attention that services were likely needed. Ok so we went through the process only for the request to be shut down. It took going through the OPEC department to move this along to start the needed services. The communication the last two years after the pandemic and with changes bringing a new principal in and then a new vice principal 2 years in a row was most alarming. At one time I'm sure this was a good school but we totally regret the financial maneuvers we jumped through to put our child in KES. The last year was an absolute nightmare I hope no parent has to go through what we went through with a total lack of emotional support for our child due to personal tragedies and unresponsive requests to quench excessive bullying our child was put through the last year. There are definitely some huge changes that need to be made there. Severe incompetence big time.Parent Review2y ago11 Reviews - Kempsville Meadows Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCurrent Administration doesn't know how to handle difficult situations. Dr. Goldberg is flat out rude. Nursing staff phones it in. Had a bad run with teachers too. Last year the teacher allowed fidget toys and the complained the kids were distracted. duh. This year my kid gets a head injury because the teacher replaced their chairs with balls to sit on. This are elementary school age kids. You give them toys they are going to play.Parent Review11mo ago14 Reviews - Indian Lakes Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers are even bigger bullies than the kids. Thank God I got my daughter out of there. My daughter is an extremely sweet 3rd grader and this school brought out a depression in my daughter that I never want to see again. Her new teacher even commented that her heart had been broken by her past teacher. I’m just glad we are gone and she is healing and has an incredible team behind her!! Don’t do it to your child!!Parent Review1mo ago26 Reviews - Providence Elementary School

Ethics and religion discrimination is very common Zero support, very rude and they have a problem for each solution.
