St Christopher's School

The gifted program at this school is not diverse in any way. The gifted program teachers are condescending, unhelpful, rude, stuck up and cruel. This “gifted” program is designed to help white people get ahead, uphold white privilege and stop minorities from having any kind of chance. Typical white people.

In response to the review re; privilege. Our family of 4 (6th and 3rd grade) has had the privilege of attending Tuckahoe Elementary for several years standing now. My husband also attended this school 32 years ago. We in fact live on the “other side of Patterson” in a tiny 1230sq ft house and we do have immigrant neighbors and kids of lower socioeconomic standing, on our street. We’ve had opportunities to leave and move into a bigger place but we love the school so much, in the tiny house we stay. In the past few years, our school has worked very hard to understand the needs of everyone across the board. They have paid attention and given real consideration of what the way is and how to do it, in 2024. They have made great efforts to include everybody. I’ve noticed more the last two years, that there are so many more assignments and projects that have a global learning aspect and that’s just wonderful. We are global citizens. My son came home today showing me he had written Chinese Characters and their meanings. I’m half Korean so my kid studying Ancient China in 3rd grade is is so exciting to me. Which kids know what the character is for Love and can actually write it out? TES kids can! Recently there was a global quilt the kids did, where they were assigned a sheet of paper (quilt square) and they were to draw and color about their own family heritage and culture. And it was all put together like a quilt with everyone’s cultures joining each other. So sweet! I have been beyond impressed at how much TES has been teaching our kids about global citizenship! We are so super proud of our school! We also changed the TES mascot and it’s no longer an American Indian. We are one family and 5 houses. We are respectful, trustworthy, grateful, compassionate, courageous. Go TES! Go House Haathee! Any family would be very lucky to have an opportunity to attend this school. The Jones family loves TES. So much that this mom has forgone personal space just so we can be part of the school!

An amazing school! Teachers are great and very responsive to any questions or concerns. Parents are very involved an we feel so lucky to have this school in our community.

I had one of my children go through Johnson with great teachers and support. My second child has the very best teacher! Aside from that, Johnson is not someplace I would choose to send my children. I am currently looking to move into a better district to avoid Brookland and Tucker with my second and then third child. They deserve better than Johnson.

Overall experience with the school is disappointing if you have black children just don’t send them. It’s not the quality I drink no fairness amongst the students of color. The academics is OK.

This school is excellent. Our 4 kids are or have attended St. Bridget School. Compared to private schools in the area, this parochial school is the bargain of the century. Students are held accountable, discipline is enforced appropriately, and morals and ethics that have been banned at public schools are still taught here. Our oldest child began high school last fall and is at the top of his class, thanks largely to his experience and the devoted staff at St. Bridget School.

Administration is terrible, and they don't help get you into college. My parents chose to send their 3 daughters there, me included, and they regret sending us there so much. I have so many examples and situations that happened at this school. Please send your children to Collegiate or Trinity if you want a private school. The boy's school is amazing. Send your boys to St. Chrisphors, but please save your daughters and don't let them go through St. Catherines.
