4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son attended this school for a month and was in one of the enhanced autism classrooms. They didn’t even have a teacher available for the first day so we got stuck with an older retired substitute teacher who had never taught children that young. Needless to say they were unprepared. I pulled my son from this school a month into the school year because he came out to me with fingernail scratches on his arm to which the teacher nor the two aides could tell me what happened. I never got the opportunity to speak to the teachers and they didn’t respond to any emails. The staff was not empathetic and tried to protect the teacher and the aides. He is nonverbal and unable to tell me what happened and they completely took advantage of that! We sadly moved to Fairfax county for the supposedly “great schools” but I experience none of this greatness. I would not recommend if your child is special needs at all.Parent Review5mo ago68 Reviews - Fort Belvoir Elementary School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe office staff at this school is abysmal. They do not check id cards unless they feel like it. They often respond to requests with, "1 minute" or "we don't do that". They bark at parents when they have questions or concerns.I just sat in the office for 15 minutes waiting for my child and they only randomly asked people at the door for an id check. This is after I once had 1 of the office workers assure me they "check them every time". They are just terrible.Parent Review6mo ago40 Reviews - Newington Forest Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI do not recommend this school for special needs children. This is my daughter’s third school in the county and we are having a horrible experience. The school makes me feel like the worse parent in the world. Constant emails and calls letting me every bad thing my child did that day. Not one good report despite not having ANY issues at her other 2 schools. It’s like if your child doesn’t fit into their cookie cutter example of a good student, they treat them like criminals. Instead of providing my daughter help they decided to isolate her and not allow her around any kids her age. The principal has threatened to suspend my child for doing things related to her autism. The principle is a nightmare! I’ve made a discrimination complaint against her with the county. I hate my child is at this school and I’m working with the region to get her moved. Otherwise legal action will be taken.Parent Review7mo ago26 Reviews - Saratoga Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI've been at this school for 7 years and now I'm in High school and the experience was okay fights were taken care of never stopped which shows the admins work which isn't all there fault but they could do better then just interviewing students and suspending kids but overall the teachers here were really nice and the school isn't all that bad.Other Review8mo ago29 Reviews - Island Creek Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child had been going to this school for 4 years but he dropped out due to neglect and poor learn at this school!!!!! Students would bully my child and i told the teachers and they did nothing, they did not even care a single bit. The teachers didn't teach, they just go on their phones and give work sheets, like this is not teaching! And the food is horrible and the school is a mess, the food they serve doesn't look like food at all, and they just reuse the left over food over and over. The school has trash all over the school and doesn't even the messes. Overall don't go this school i am warning you guys!Parent Review1mo ago27 Reviews - Laurel Hill Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy first grader thrived last year. The teachers, the administration and support staff all genuinely care about the kids and about their learning. Their teachers are responsive and action-oriented. There also is a very engaged PTA that plans and provides extra opportunities for learning, fun and growth. The student body is diverse which leads to shared-learning and cultural understanding. I couldn't ask for a better learning environment for my child.Parent Review1y ago19 Reviews - The Springs A Montessori School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have been at this schoolSince 2020 and originally picked it because of its cleanliness and mask, socialDistancing guidelines but aside from that both our kids have flourished here. My oldest will be 5 soon and she started at 18 months old! Their confidence level stands out and the teachers are loving. The administration brought in a stronger lead and changes have been made across the board to the type of structure the school offers. Sometimes having tough administrative staff can be seen as a negative but I think in thus space it’s worked out nicely with Ofcourse some ups and downs. The school runs nicely and you know your kids are taken care of. As a working parent that’s all I want.Parent Review1y ago29 Reviews
