Prince William Academy

This school is not for children that have IEP. The staff and teachers have zero training on accommodations that children with disabilities may require. Be ready to advocate for your children. The special education teachers are quick to recommend medications when in reality they are the ones that need up-to date training on special education. The teachers arent trained to implement IEP with integrity. They base their decision on personal feelings rather than whats best for the student. The staff and teachers are unwelcoming. It is not an inclusive school at all. They also share information about your children with other parents which is very unprofessional.

There is no PTO at this school, and the children are just kept alone in a “island” if they have any issues such as ADHD or behavioral problems. It's outrageous that Prince William can have someone with such a low standard of human decency in such a high position is a joke. The principal only acts rudely toward staff members and students in front of the school.

Parents beware, this school is only good for neurotypical children but for children with disabilities this school is too limited and doesn't offer support. We had an awful experience. They tend to spend the minimum sources for children with disabilities and keep them in an non inclusive secluded environment which is detrimental for them to thrive. Not to mention that the teacher turnover rate is very high.

The female Principal at the school is unprofessional and should not be working in a school setting. My son notified me that a boy hugged him and kissed him on the neck. He told me about after he came home on Monday from school. I was able to confirm the incident did happen and it was on a Friday. Either way, my son’s demeanor indicated it made him uncomfortable. After I inquired about the incident, the school called me for a 3PM in person meeting. Now, I went into it letting them know, I have no intent to address the issue because I think it was innocent, but I did want them to keep an eye out in case it happens again. The Principal then states, “Well, if you move forward with this your son will be in trouble because he initiated it because he hugged the boy first and the boy hugged him back followed with a kiss. You would not want this to follow him, will you.” So, I said, “excuse me! I come to address something to you and your strategy is to intimidate me by blaming my SON!” Then, she followed up with an email and did not accurately capture, because I corrected her, she responded back, “on your behalf, I will be initiating a formal title (blah) investigation. I called her immediately and she hung up on because I asked her if she was okay…I asked her if she was going through something personally that her response is taking it out on my son! Who has every right to come to me and I have every right to inquire. She made me feel uncomfortable. She made me feel that it is not safe to report anything. So no..as long as she is in that school, go to a different school zone.

Best school ever Everyone is doing his best to make this school great Our amazing principal, teachers, the staff members are working so hard to let our students safe and happy Even the PTA members are doing a great job to host events at this school My daughter is graduating this year we are so sad leaving westridge ( no bullying, great communication, safety... everything is top notch)
