Read what parents are saying about Johnson Middle SchoolThe energy that the school has throughout the day is not great, the principals are so mean they make learning not fun and they ruined my middle school years. Most of the teachers are fine not really any complaints there but really just the principals. I went in to middle school thinking I would have more freedom from what I had in elementary school but no, the first month of 7th and 8th grade we had to sit with our class and couldn’t turn around and face the table next to you. Matter of fact teachers had to walk us down like little kids and then pick us up when we were done eating to then take us back to class. This school was not safe there were a bunch of drugs and at one point we had a shooting threat again not safe environment and a place where I did not want to be also lots of fights happening in bathrooms when teachers don’t know this school needs more security and better principals until those two things are changed I don’t recommend this school. Also forgot to add if you ask teachers they would most likely say they need to get rid of the principals because they do not make the place safe and happy. 1/5 stars in the place do not recommend for new people moving to Fairfax.
Posted by a community member on 12/20/2023Recently, there was a school fight, and all the teachers said was "If you have a video delete it NOW! Do no post it on social media you will get detention or suspended. Neither of the kids got suspended, or detention.
Posted by a student on 10/27/2023It’s a great school with lots of after school activities. If a student is eager to learn, he/she will always find the opportunity to enhance knowledge and skills. Teachers are nice and very supportive.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter went to this school. She has ADHD and did not get any support when she needed. Other teacher told me that she was harrased by her teacher in front of others. And the new principal treated my child like a handicap. Whatever incident happened to my daughter, this school blamed on her. The new principal is very unconcerned and not caring on minority, especially Asians. Not a good school for anyone!Parent Review1y ago - Fairfax Villa Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI personally have had a few bad experiences with this school. In one of the online meetings with one of the counselors and the principal, the principal was on the phone the whole time and muted. He was not really paying attention to my kid's IEP meeting, I was very sad to see this, counselor was a little bit embarrassed and apologized at the end of the meeting. In a different occasion, I had another counselor approaching my kid and interrogating my child like my kid was a criminal about an incident in the bus ride home. I followed up on this with the counselor, she mentioned she interrogated all the kids, I just think there are better ways to ask questions. When my kids started school at the Villa the rating was 8/10, no wonder why the rating keeps dropping. Small school and it has its advantages, but the staff needs better training and preparation. People at the front office have always been AMAZING.Parent Review5mo ago - Oakton Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageVery poor communication between teachers and parents, not really friendly or caring staffing , other parents may have different experience but my experience with the kindergarten's teacher and staffing was very poor, also education system not good at all, the kindergarten teacher was very demanding and discriminating , I took my kid out and put him on private school and never will recommend this school at all!Parent Review2mo ago - Eagle View Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daugther just completed 6th grade at Daniel's Run Elementary. She was there for her entire Elementary School education and I can honestly say that Daniel's Run has gone downhill over the past 5 years since the new principal arrived.Earlier on it seemed like the school was more devoted to engaging the kids' curiosity and helping them grow into upstanding citizens. The new principal instead seems to be focused on SOL scores and does nothing to keep the school safe or follow the guidelines on bullying. My daughter has been bullied all of this year by 3 6th grade boys and the most the school would do is talk to the boys and ask them to stop. There was no punishment, the parents were not talked to as far as I am aware, and there was no interaction even when the ringleader beat up a 5th grade boy. Apparently, the goal is to be able to keep their attendence numbers up and by expelling these kids, that would lower their numbers. I am not the only one that has had issues with the principal. If a kid is having trouble learning at the school, he provides no assistance so many parents are pulling their kids out to move them to private schools, which is another way they are keeping their SOL scores up.Parent Review10mo ago - Providence Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur family is a proud member of the Gesher community for 8 years now. With 3 kids in Gesher at different age groups I feel very comfortable sharing they are all enjoying a very rich academic experience, by great teachers, that really give their everything for the kids to be happy and very well treated. The social environment is supportive, and the relationships and kindness between the older kids (7th and 8th graders) and the younger kids (pre-K and K) is heartwarming and beautiful. Judaism and tradition studies are amazing and given with a lot of fun. In a county where most schools are better than in the rest of the county, choosing to go private is a very difficult, but I feel our kids thrive in this school, and that is priceless.Parent Review1y ago - St. Leo the Great School
