Brookfield to me was a wonderful school. I was there since kindergarten and its a amazing school

Since the COVID outbreak, the quality of education in this school as been lacking. The teachers are more motivated to just teach the curriculum generally, and there is not enough homework assignments and projects handed out. The school used to be better. You really need to supplement your child's education with other external classes in order to really catch up with the actual curriculum. The AAP teacher here is also not very helpful and Fairfax County AAP and Advanced Placement curriculum is very confusing and keeps changing all the time.

Excellent teachers and excellent special education program. The school has gone through some leadership changes but the culture, community, and committed teacher corps is unchanged. We have loved sending our kids here.

This school is really great and would recommend it. The teachers are very supportive and fun, I had a lot of fun in my years and hope people join and experience it too.

Poplar Tree is a wonderful school! It’s motto “We All Belong Here” rings true as it’s a place that celebrates its diverse population by making everyone feel that they are a part of the team. Both my son and daughter have had fabulous experiences during their elementary career. It’s no surprise teachers rarely leave…and some that do leave often come back! Anyone would be lucky to have their child learn at Poplar Tree!

My daughter has been at Colin Powell Elementary from kindergarten through 6th grade in the general education program, and we absolutely adore the teachers and staff. They are caring, dedicated, and make learning a wonderful experience.My son receives support through an IEP for his ADHD, and the staff have been incredibly supportive and loving toward him. They even attend his soccer games on Saturdays to cheer him on, which means so much to our family.To parents who feel that having children with autism or ADHD disrupts the classroom: public schools are designed for all students, and Fairfax County schools, like many across the country, are currently facing teacher shortages. The staff at Colin Powell Elementary are doing their absolute best to meet the needs of every child, and we are so grateful for their hard work and dedication.

This has been one of the worst elementary schools my daughter has attended to. Teachers are too hard of special needs kids, bullying, bad attitude, bad behavior, students judging other students weather their clothes are fancy. Like seriously? I am so disappointed. Everyone is so rude for absolute no reason. Never letting my daughter step a foot in this school. I would not recommend going. Teachers and the principal are just nice when parents are here. Don’t go here , its a MESS!
