CHHS was a great school. In the school year 1999/2000, the senior of the month committee failed to award the 4th in the Class of 2000 with any senior of the month award. While he was no sports star, he was a member of both the basketball and baseball teams. He was awarded the year 2000 Male Scholar Athlete Award. He also was awarded the year 2000 Male Athlete Award. My suspicion is that the lack of senior of the month honors provided fertile ground for the student's cancellation and defamation by the law firm Stuart & Branigin. The student (Andrew) had scored 170 on a proctored LSAT as a graduate student at Purdue University. That score was a bit high compared to the entry scores of the majority of Stuart & Branigin lawyers. Research it. Buy a US News Graduate School Rankings magazine from the year 2005. The score 170 is currently just above the 97th percentile internationally. My score report listed my 170 as in the 97.8th percentile.#GossipFodderWhile James Burnett is a vice principal at the school, 1 star is the ranking I personally provide. I was shunned as a substitute teacher. I had a perfect behavior record in High School and a perfect behavior record at Liberty University.

If your child is in special education of any kind you must stay on top of what is in your child's IEP and know what is going on. Your child can easily fall threw the cracks of the system if your unaware. When you bring any concerns you have to the principal she may look for any reason to punish your child in school. She is not willing to help when there's an issue. My experience is these people think there better than you and your child. They say they want parent involvement but your involved they don't like that either. Can't wait to move !

We moved here from Georgia and before that our girls went to schools in Yorktown Va. Colonial Heights schools are excellent, small town, but great school system. The grading system really makes the students work for there grades. At first we were concerned about the grade scale, but it has worked out, our senior has excelled and is graduating with an advanced degree. Technical center is great for optional trades. Great teachers and staff

I was dismayed when I heard that at this years ring dance they played rap music to a predominently white population. The comment made upon the return of the young adults who did attend was that, it was alright but the music was awful. More thought needs to go into what messages rap music conveys to the youth of today. Our job as adults in education is to bring our 'youth' up...not show them the way down.
