Read what parents are saying about Riverside SchoolGreat school with an amazing Principal. Very individualized for the students and the teachers communicate with parents extremely well.
Posted by a parent on 3/31/2020We LOVE Riverside. I have a 7 and 10 year old currently attending Riverside and we couldn't ask for a better school. Every teacher my children have had in the past 4 years while attending have been excellent! The leader in me program is wonderful and allows for every student to learn leadership and responsibility. They have not only exceeded my expectations in scholastic areas but also in so many additional programs and experiences. My children have been involved in ALP classes, Choir, Marathon club ( laps students do a lunch), science fair, reflections, and so much more. The administration is so involved, helpful, positive, and knowledgeable. It takes a village to raise a child and Riverside is our village!
Posted by a parent on 5/3/2017I can't say enough wonderful things about Riverside Elementary! First, I have never seen a more involved principle. He is energetic, happy, and fun and truly cares about his students, teachers and staff. The secretaries are wonderful, they know all of the children's names and their parents. My oldest child is in the Advanced Learning Placement program at the school and loves it. She is challenged and loves learning. The read your way through college program Riverside has encouraged her to be an adimant reader. I have loved all of my childens teachers and although they all have different teaching styles and personalities they have all been loved by my children as well. I also have a son who has needed extra help from the school speech therapist and resource teacher and they worked so hard to help him. He loved them and their hard work made it possible for him to test out of both. I am looking forward to having all four of my children attend Riverside this year!
Posted by a parent on 7/29/2015This school is fantastic! The principal knows so many of the kids by name. He has such a positive fun energy about him. The kids all want to please him. I love the "Leader In Me Program that has been implemented. It teaches our kids so much beyond the books. Also I love the Math 36 program to help our kids be fluent in adding/subtracting/multiplying/dividing. There is only one teacher whom is known as a "yeller" and harsh on kids but the principal listens to your needs for your child and places your children in a good matched classroom. Every teacher my children have had they have learned, and enjoyed. One of my children is in an advanced learning class "SOAR" which I have really been impressed with. Also the secretaries and librarian are kind and helpful and have good energy. I didn't rate it a perfect score because their is always something to improve on but really it is an excellent school.
Posted by a parent on 5/14/2015Riverside is a great school! I have not met any teachers or staff there that are not excellent and committed to the students. Mr. Staheli, the principal, is always looking for ways to make the school better. He loves being there and it shows in his constant enthusiasm. Most of the parents I talk to are very happy to have their kids here.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter had a hard time at this school we addressed a few times bullying situations that involved classmates bullying my child. We were met with no compassion or any understanding of the sensitivity of the situation. It was just dismissed from administration. My child felt like it was their fault and the bullying continued into the next school year. My child loves learning, but felt like their was no where they could turn to when the situation of bullying happened again and again. My child did not feel safe anymore at this school and their self confidence diminished. I could not let this go on anymore as a parent and saw that we had no support from the school at all! We pulled our child out of this school and put our child into another school in the district that took bullying seriously and my child I felt was just not a number on their roaster. My child is happy at this new school and is thriving. But the number one thing that my child feels at this new school is that they feel supported and safe! I am grateful that we found this other school. Because of the lack of support from the other school my child was full of anxiety and fear of being bullied every day at the previous school and didn't want to continue attending the previous school. I didn't know what was causing this until it was too late! The teachers are awesome and have little help. The ratio is 1 teacher to 24 students with no assistance with a helper in class. The new school has a helper in each class so there so much support and 4 counselorsParent Review3mo ago - Panorama School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI love this school. We just moved here and I have 3 kids at the school. The teachers have all been welcoming, attentive, and so good to my kids. They are patient, kind, and at the same time, they have super high expectations for students and won’t let them slack. I love that in 5th grade they hold my student accountable for getting work done each week. If my student slacks, they have to go to a class where they catch-up, but if they get everything done, they play a game. This has motivated my 5th grader so much. For the first time, I don’t have to fight with my kid to work on things. He is taking ownership and is getting things done without reminders. I’m seeing so much improvement in him, and my other 2, and it’s because of the wonderful teachers at this school.Parent Review3mo ago - Valor Hall
