Read what parents are saying about Clarke N Johnsen Jr High SchoolJunior High is a difficult age. The teachers at Clarke really seem to care about every kid. My child was struggling with health issues and their teachers always checked in on her to make sure she was doing alright.
Posted by a parent on 10/14/2022This school I had a great experience and I never got bullied. Most of the teachers are nice too.
Posted by a student on 4/25/2022All 5 of my kids have attended Clarke. I have found it to be a positive experience each time. The administration is very approachable and responsive to requests. Teachers are invested in the kids. Middle school is hard…I am amazed at the Clarke teachers all of the time. Overwhelmingly, they enjoy their jobs and sincerely care about the kids. My kids have even lovingly made fun of a few teachers based on their enthusiasm for the subjects they are teaching :). The school is clean and in good repair.
Posted by a parent on 10/20/2021My son has only had 8th grade here, and it's been great except for one teacher who doesn't enter her grades in a timely manner at all (like... 3 months later), and the assistant principal who says it's the student's responsibility to remind teachers to enter grades. Other than that, there are so many teachers and counselors who care about the well being of the students, both academically and socially. If you can avoid that one Language Arts teacher and the Assistant Principal, you'll love this school!

My oldest started to experience bullying in the 2nd grade and I thought we had it handled. However 2 weeks into the 3rd grade it started back up because they sat the bully right next to her in class. She came home bruised from the hip down to her knee from him stabbing at her with his pencil. And when I took pictures and went to the teacher she tried to dismiss it. She out right said "I can't picture (name omitted) doing that he is just a good kid. I will move your daughter to the back of the line and put her in a different seat in class". I found it ridiculous that the teacher wanted to move my daughter because another student could not keep their hands to them selves. It only got worse from there. My daughter began falling behind and was struggling with tests due to her anxiety at school. By 5th grade she was failing every subject. I tried to get her on a 504 to accommodate her anxiety and the teachers were less than helpful. In the recommendation from the Dr. she was to be given extra time on tests and allowed to sit away from other students. The teachers argued with me about it and then to appease me said they would do what they could. However, nothing happened. And the bullying increased 10 fold to the point my daughter was coming home in tears asking why everyone in her class hates her, and why is she so stupid. I had enough at that point and pulled both of my daughters out to home school. I would never send my children back to that school. And in all honesty it has ruined me for any public school.Parent Review4y ago - Copper Canyon School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAmazing school. The staff is very caring and they are all the best teachers and staff you can find. The schools test scores are some of the best in the county. They have lots of volunteer opportunities, and lots of extra curricular things going on for the kids.Parent Review9y ago - St Marguerite's Catholic School
