Sierra Bonita Elementary School

This is a Title 1 school that gets additional funding and uses that money for technology (every student has a Chromebook), additional tutors and continuing education for the teachers. This has proven helpful as ALL their test scores have improved in math, reading and science over the last 2 years. Don’t believe this websites 3/10 ranking, look for yourself, this is a great school.

We are huge Rees fans. The staff is so caring, not only just the teachers, but also the back office, the principal, everyone seems so kind and engaged in my kid’s education. This is not a school that simply goes through the motions - they genuinely want their students to succeed!

My kids and I LOVE Canyon! The teachers they've had are excellent and so sweet. The Principal is wonderful and seems to just love the kids. My Kindergartener has come home a couple of times telling me that he visited their class and said hello to her by name, and likes to make them laugh. Both my Kindergartener and my Second Grader have been involved in cute programs and a lot of fun activities with their classes. I have actually been considering homeschooling for a couple of years because my kids and I love to learn together one on one, but I have not had the heart to pull them out of Canyon because they are having so much fun there. I have been very happy with their experiences so far!

I will try to express how great this school is. I noticed that the reviews here were pretty old and I thought I'd give something more updated for people to read. We only have one kiddo here, but we have had the absolute best experience with her here. All three of her teachers poured their hearts into their students. The principal talks to me when I run into her outside of work hours and she's present and active at every activity we've been to like movie nights with the projector outside and their halloween event. The Halloween event CAN NOT be missed!! I have 6 kids and have never seen a school more involved in making magic. Every year they pick a different theme and the teachers and other staff all create a different exibit matching that theme. They still do field trips and the halls are always displaying fun projects the kids have done. I would recommend this school to anyone looking for a school that feels like a family.

The principal really cares and greets the kids every morning. Teachers are amazing, staff is great.

I would rate my experience at this school a 3/5. There are A LOT of things the school should work on...but over all the teachers and staff are very nice people and I had a neutral experience at this school!
