I love the fact that the teachers my son has been so helpful and now my son is really good at reading and passing his spelling tests. I like that when the kids do good the principal gets the kids excited about having lunch with him.

A title 1 school that strives for excellence, works to help students from all backgrounds no matter what their ability, that's pioneering the way we teach children through a very meaningful volunteer program. There's a great need for expansion!
Posted by a community member on 10/12/2010I am VERY disappointed with this school. My daughters teachers for K & 1st grade were not very attentive & had a lack of concern for her. She has a learning disability & neither of them listen when I voiced my concern for her falling behind. She also fell flat on her face when it was icy outside. Sh

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a good school for kids that are academic oriented. We transferred our kid during COVID, due to public schools being locked down and students falling behind, so our experience is limited to 5th grade and middle school, however, our student is really thriving at this school overall, and adjusted well socially and academically. One thing we appreciate about Challenger is that they teach the kids to be self-driven and self-sufficient, and to take charge of their responsibilities, including homework and projects. The second thing we appreciate is that learning is primarily taking place in the classroom, they get homework but end up doing it quicker, there is less nagging at home about it, which is great, in contrast to some of our previous public school experience. Being efficient at these two fronts means more efficient use of learning time, which means more time for extracurricular activities (my son does sports almost every day after school).
