Read what parents are saying about Escalante SchoolThe school itself is Amazing. My now 4th grader used to LOOOOOVVVVVEEEEE it there until this year. She comes home every day depressed and after asking why she tells me how her teacher is getting frustrated about her being too shy. If someone is shy then they are shy. They have to open on their own. You can’t force it. And if students are going home depressed at the age of 9 then maybe one should question their profession. She says her teacher doesn’t encourage them if they have wrong answer she will just be like nope your wrong instead of saying that’s a good try but let’s try again. The problem is that all her previous teachers were that way and then she gets one more straight forward And it’s hard to swallow. And this new way of math. Blah. If my daughter needs help with her homework, I’m going to teach her how I learned because sometimes looking it up doesn’t help me to explain it to her. So the old way it is! The old way works. You know if it’s not broke then don’t fix it. I know that each state is different but my nephew who lives a couple states over learned the math my 4th grader is learning in 6th grade honours math. So either where he lives they are baby stepping it or where we live they are trying to advance them so they can score higher on state testing. But at the cost of students mental health. Not cool. I would highly recommend this school but only have to say is watch your students and if they start acting differs then ask why because nobody should feel bad about being somewhere or feel that uncomfortable about being there. Thank you!

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was worried about the quality of the education my first grade child would receive from this school, but my worries were unfounded. The school had a great academic program, with excellent faculty leadership and teacher involvement. I was very impressed and feel that his education suffered no loss whatsoever in comparison to other schools in areas with higher economic status. He went on field trips, had after school programs, and an incredibly successful year. We are sad we moved out of the district because the school was top-notch. His teacher was fantastic. I would highly recommend it.Parent Review12y ago - Jackson School
