NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSt. Joseph Catholic Elementary is a wonderful school! My son attended from Pre-3 through 8th grade, and we have no regrets. He graduated from 8th grade happy, prepared for high school (and beyond), and feeling supported. The greater St. Joe community is also incredible -- a group of really passionate, involved, engaged, neat people! Given that it's a Catholic school, we also loved its focus on character, faith, and values -- principles that are just missing from public schools. Would 100% recommend!Parent Review10mo ago13 Reviews - James Madison School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teacher's in this school try as hard as the can, but because years ago the school turned a blind eye to the behavioral problems with the students, it has grown to a level that seems impossible to combat. The students are allowed to swear at each other and at the teachers, if they knock another child down, or punch them in the stomach, they are told no no no we don't do that, and that's it. Elementary students have punched other kids in the face so hard the student started bleeding, the student that punched is still punching and bullying students. These students cuss and say racial slurs to other students, staff is exhausted, they can't discipline the students anymore or they would never be teaching. The parents need to be more involved in this school, the teachers need help. The principal at this school is hardly ever seen, I thought the vice principal was the principal, a lot of the kids also thought the vice was their principal since they never see the actual principal. At other schools we've been at, we knew who the principal was, the kids knew who the principal was, the principal was actively involved. These kids are good kids, but the school at it's core has fallen apart, lost sight of having pride in their school, showing pride in the kids, supporting the teachers, and just letting the kids do whatever. The school has said some of these kids can't be sent home due to home life, well they should have something else in place then, a special room with a behavioral therapist for some time to go over respect etc and then do classwork where they are given praise for doing good/listening. I really hope something changes, I do know it's going to take longer to fix this, then it did for it to start. These kids are worth it, please JMES help our students to thrive.Parent Review3y ago3 Reviews - Wasatch Christian School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePlease do not send your child to this school if they are under the age of 5. The school has a major problem with aggressive and abusive behavior issues with children from 2 to 5 years old. There is not enough staff to handle these issues and administration just tells staff to redirect or remove them from the area. The staff is told not to punish or hold the offending child accountable just redirect. The parents are not told about the behavioral issues or staff is told to downplay the issues. The children are out of control. Bullying is ignored and is constant in these class rooms. The administration staff ignores these issues and just advises the staff to gently ask the children to be kind to each other. There is no punishment or time out ..just constant screaming..yelling..biting.. scratching and physical violence ..just try and walk the halls..Parent Review4y ago7 Reviews - Odyssey School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would give no stars if possible. My son was in kindergarten with a teacher who started with a T. He was bullied a lot, his teacher called him a tattle tell and was told that he is not allowed to keep telling on the kids that were hurting him. The teacher even said a lot of disrespectful words towards me as well so I knew how rude she was. The teacher was upset that my son couldn't sit still and when the teacher moved on to another assignment and didn't allow my son to finish his work which made him sad and he cried. There were times my son came home from school crying so hard pleading me to not make him go back to school and he was barely 5 years old. Come to find out my son has ADHD so that's why he couldn't sit still and had attention issues. If your kids have any form of ADHD or anything else then I would NOT recommend this place. They never got a school councilor for him, never switched classes to see if that would help him, they never did anything. I spoke with the principle and she seemed to be on the teachers side and wouldn't even listen to me at all. This is just not a good school to your children in if the principle is not even willing to hear parents concerns. My son now goes to a different school this year and he is doing so much better and excelling. His teacher adores him and is so kind to him. They have more structure for him and the school councilor and behavior specialist helps my son when needed. I knew that it was not my son who was the issue it was the teacher and this school. I would not recommend putting your child into any of the schools under the Ogden School District. When I called them and talked to one of the guys there he seemed like he was going to help but, didn't end up helping at all towards the end. I think private or charter schools in Ogden are the best until they are willing to get new staff who can help children be successful rather than what they have now.Parent Review3y ago4 Reviews - New Bridge Elementary

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teacher has been great, but the administration is horrible. My son is regularly talked down to by the vp and principal. When taking with the principal over the phone, she will interrupt you regularly and then hang up when you ask her not to. Unfortunately the bullying that occurs from the management team does not outweigh the teacher's wonderful and patient approach.Parent Review1mo ago3 Reviews
