Read what parents are saying about Centerville SchoolMy daughter is doing much better than she was doing at her last school. Her teacher is amazing and always helping out. She is looking forward to next year.
Posted by a parent on 8/11/2023Disappointing to see the school in constant decline. Lots of talk and from the principal and very little action, actual progress or resolution of issues. She is her own priority.
Posted by a parent on 6/21/2023It's ok-- but the school counselor doesn't help with anything, just tells you to forget about it then proceeds to say that bullying is bad and to stand up for yourself and tell her.Other then that it's good, many good friends and people.
Posted by a parent on 5/15/2022School doesn't promote friendship between students. My daughter and another student got into a verbal fight at school and both parents were aware of the situation. Now my daughter isn't allowed to speak or talk to this student anymore, but now both students want to be friends again. They say they are preventing a future problem by separating them, but I feel they are causing issues by not teaching them how to build relationships and get over issues like that. They're 9, tell them what they did was wrong and then hug it out.
Posted by a parent on 4/24/2017We had such a great experience with our son who attended kindergarten this year. His teacher was amazing, and she and the principal/staff worked hard to help him adjust to the new change. The parents are extremely involved as well. He loves his school. We requested a variance for him so he could attend centerville elementary and are very happy with that decision.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is really a great school. The principal studies the research of what improves success in students and actually implements them. It’s awesome. They have so many activities for the kids. Friday clubs is really neat. They take time to explore their interests outside of the day to day classroom. They have acting, singing, Minecraft and art clubs, to name a few. I think it’s really neat that they are allowing kids to foster more opportunities like that. It’s really cool. My son tried acting for a month and they had a school wide program where kids could perform. My son was in a play and there were kids around the school performing or showing their parents what they are doing. I really like the encouragement with parent involvement, they welcome parent volunteers in class and with the school. Our last school didn’t do that, it’s nice to be able to go and help out. It helps create a sense of community (in the school we moved from, it felt school was really separate and here I like how open they are in sharing what they are doing). They seem to have more opportunities her than our last school, the school counselor is amazing. One thing that really stands out to me is they have a meditation room. It’s a safe place where kids can go to help regulate their emotions when they are feeling imbalanced. I absolutely love the focus of the school is on the entire wellbeing of the child. They focus on getting their core needs met so they are emotionally regulated and in a state of mind to learn. The class sizes are not too big and from my experience have provided ample one-on-one attention. I’ve talked with other moms in the school who say the same thing. It was scary for my children to start a new school this year, and I’ll admit I was apprehensive at first as change can be difficult. I’m so glad we did. I adore this school, what it stands for and the school receptionists are even really cool. Which helps a lot as for most of us parents, that is our main interaction with the whole school. Great school.Parent Review11mo ago - Oak Hills School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is GREAT! I had 3 kids over the span of 7 years here at Oak Hills. I love the admin and teachers and I know whenever I had a concern I could bring it to their attention and have it resolved. The PTA is overkill and a little intense. I always joke, back to school morning you better bring your running shoes because each parent RUNS to the classroom to sign up for the Halloween houses or the Christmas around the world or the other seni-religious traditions this school maintains. I liked being involved but I don't like the feeling of the competitive stay-at-home moms. Overall, great school and your kids will be well cared for!Parent Review3y ago - Tolman School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageReally grateful for this school. There are only about six schools in my community for all day childcare when I work my daughter's advanced in learning and she gets what she needs. There was a lot of social interaction. They learn a lot of social skills there even though it's a smaller group of kids.Parent Review6y ago
