my time at Lamar was horrible i was bullied to leaving and constant second guessing my safety there was multiple bomb threats in one week and parents where not told about it the way parents found out was though there child it was posted to Instagram as well on a private story there was also a school
Posted by a community member on 8/11/2025I don't recommend this school at all. there is literally mice and cockroaches in the main hallway restroom, but not even that some of the teachers here dont care. and the students here are so mean to the new 6th graders and there are just to many names and things students say to each other. bulling
Posted by a student on 12/17/2024I have had nothing but issues. Most teachers are not the issue. The administration and the way that they do not respond to teacher and children needs. Lamar keeps stating how great they are, how much has been done. It was a building update, nothing has changed in the way they manage the dump.

She is challenged with rigorous academic work, enriched with a terrific fine arts program, afforded the opportunity to experience a more world-view with a diverse and thriving school pop

All of my daughter’s teachers have gone above and beyond. The ladies in the front office are welcoming and the principal really listens and cares. 7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNot a great experience. If you have a gifted child I would send them somewhere else if you can. They say they support this enrichment but my kid hasn’t learned anything. We have to do school on our own because the school is so dysfunctional. The school staff is poorly trained in child development and disciple. They call parents for the smallest thing. This just shows the child the adults at the school don’t have any authority. Art room floods multiple times a year and staff isn’t aware for days to get someone to dry it out. Special education is not offered. Students are not challenged or given advanced work or opportunities. Class sizes are at max capacity. Competition is discouraged. Teachers have to teach art and science as no staff for those positions. Technological opportunities for students are out dated. Library is not accessible and fully functional to students.
