Posted by a community member on 4/27/2017This school, the teachers and principal are amazing! This is a dual language school and is very committed to developing bilingualism & biliteracy. I have two kids at the school and really believe they are getting a top education. With their help I know that they will be bilingual and biliterate once they graduate. They also have lots of great extracurricular activities. My kids have grown tremendously and the teachers are always willing to take the time to talk to you.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBad student teacher ratio that they are unable to keep track of the children and their development. No teacher parent communication and lack of professionalism. Second year with my child there and after this year he will not be returning to Idea San Juan.Parent Review7y ago - John Doedyns Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI believe as a parent that academicly i rate as a five star , I see the principal and teachers are doing their best > BUT as i have been present practically everyday for a special reason regarding my daughter , I have noticed they need of alot training and work in certain departments . I am very disappointed to see this , I beleive that the staff for having a high education to where they stand now they do not have the ability to use their education. I myself have to yell " GOOD MORNING !! GOOD AFTERNOON !! in order to get noticed . "THEY NEED ALOT OF TRAINING IN EMERGENCIES ,NURSES STATION AND HEALTHY EATING HABITS .Parent Review13y ago - Henry Ford Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOut of all the schools my kids have attended, Dr Long is the best. I have three kids that attend their and 4 next year. My kids are very well know their. I love the attention my kids get their. Even when my son wanted to give up the staff at Dr Long never gave up. Extra thanks to these special teachers, Mr Silva, Mrs T martinez, Mrs T-Rex, Mrs Gomez, ms Mendez, ms p salinas, ms Lopez. Thanks so much for having such a impact in my family's lives!Parent Review12y ago - Vida N Clover Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere are some great teachers at this school. The GT program is pretty good. The staff for the most part has done well to have this school running well. When I say staff, I mean teachers, cafeteria, teacher aides, and cleaning staff, I cannot say much about the the "higher up" administration. I know that in most cases the staff reflects a good leader but in some cases that is not always the case. This school in my opinion is rated average because it lacks structure from the administration and from the lack of parent involvement. Some of the parents don't care for the type of education that their child receive; they see the school as a day care center. The kids need to be held accountable as well as the parents and if that were to happen, this would make it a great school but unfortunately you need a great leader to spear head this project and unfortunately I don't see Dr. King helping out in this issue. Over all as long as your kid has a good teacher that is all that matters so hope that each year your kid gets one other wise good luck for the future of the kids.Other Review12y ago
