Read what parents are saying about Scarborough Elementary SchoolThe support of the staff and Principals in this school is AMAZING and supportive to all kids and families. It’s a very large school but is run extremely well considering how many students go there. Everyone is welcoming and helpful to student’s success and I encourage families to reach out if they need help as I know they go above and beyond to help the kids. I would definitely recommend this school!
Posted by a parent on 12/15/2023This school has been phenomenal for our 3 kids. The environment that is fostered by the staff here, and especially the coaches (who are active throughout the day not just with sports or gym) is amazing. Our oldest was behind when she got here, and caught right up and is now an A honor roll student in high school. We're very happy with this choice.

Posted by a parent on 4/3/2022we hear great things from past students and parents.
Posted by a community member on 2/12/2020My kids had an amazing school year with teachers who taught exceptionally well, super involved support staff (like the PE coaches and counselors), and an amazing PTA. This is a huge school as far as number of students but it felt intimate and coheisive.

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf I could give this school zero stars I would. My child has adhd and is on a 504 plan. This school did not follow his plan. His teacher pegged him as a “bad kid” because he is hyper and she was constantly reprimanding him in front of the other students. This then caused all the kids in his class to not want to be his friend because he is now the “bad kid”. I know this because children would approach me and tell me this. His teacher also told me that I needed to put him on medication ( in front of him in the car pool line, as my child was getting into his booster seat). In addition, another child was picking on my child and they attempted to excuse it because that boy has autism and adhd. First off, every child should be treated equally. It’s not okay for my kid to continue to get picked on because that child also has autism. Every kid has something going on in their lives (because again mine also has adhd), bullying is inexcusable. And need I mention they shouldn’t be releasing another child’s medical info to other parents (it’s against the law). Or in my child’s case, be getting involved in the medical decisions of those parents. Stay away from this school if you can. It will only stress out your child and make them doubt their character (my kid started to literally think he was a bad kid just because he is a little hyper) and make you feel helpless and my child is only in kinder. Some teachers don’t need to be teachers. He’s moved on to another school and has an amazing teacher and many friends. That goes to show that his old teacher was toxic (my son’s therapist that helps him control his impulses- even said so, that “ she’s breeding an unhealthy environment” and that’s why all the kids in her class were mean to each other and Burke did nothing about it.Parent Review1y ago - Ward Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMoving from Arizona to San Antonio we were thrilled to choose a neighborhood with this elementary school. The teachers, administration, and counselors really helped our child adapt and then excel. Our son was in a class with a few rougher kids that started causing problems for many kids in class and across the school. Our sons teacher with the administration sternly nipped it in the bud before it became too much of an issue, all while keeping open communication with families through emails and letters home. We would happily recommend this school!Parent Review3y ago - Mireles Elementary School
