McCollum High School

This is my first child attending school & truly NOT the best school. Very disappointed that this is the closest school to my area, hadn’t heard anything positive about the school prior to having to let my child attend.Staff could handle situations much better, very FEW staff members/ teachers are actually helpful, many shrug off issues to avoid tending to them. Teachers are in a desperate rush to get rid of students in pick up lines after school conversations are constantly negative about having to deal with the kids, eager to clock out as heard during pick up. Unfortunate in all aspects, could be a much more pleasant learning environment & Overall more helpful to parents when having a concern/question.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!Please don't waste your time.

Never liked it there for my children, but since we have NO choice and live close to it, I had to place them there. Definitely wouldn't recommend this school. Had nothing but negative experiences there with the staff. I do believe the "school system" is becoming way too controlling leaving us parents in awe. I dont remember handing them.custody of my children so I should be able to check them out whenever, allow my child to stay at home if he/she needs to(a days recovery) without a dr.excuse. Sign my name however I see fit. Children being taugh conformity. Each child has a unique talent and the school is set on making robots. Thats all you see in school. Conformity and submissiveness. Do what youre told, or get reported. I want my child to stand out NOT fit in. Teach them how to fend for themselves. Farming, about the financial system, astrology in its full extent. The list goes on and on.

The school is horrible at announcing events with the parents to give us time to be able to either attend or have our children participate in activities. Also from Pre-K3 up to first grade I'm still having issues with my child getting bullied or injured in the classroom and the school seems to cover it up by not telling the parents what actually happened but guess what My child knows how to speak and she's not afraid to tell me when another child hurts her! There's never an update as far as what disciplinary actions are done to the other child that injures on purpose.

My nephew is in an ALE class and was getting hit by another student and being sent to the nurses office everyday for 3 weeks ! The Principal is too busy in “meeting” to contact and let us know what was going on and how they are going to fix the situation. We leave messages and don’t get a calls back. This has been going on for 3 weeks !

IT WAS VERY DISORGANIZED ! TECAHERS WERE YELLING , THE GRASS WAS OVER GROWEN AND THE PICK UP SYSTEM WAS A NIGHTMARE .
