May Elementary School

Severe bullying involving my first grade child with disabilities getting hit, kicked, and punched by another student. Another incident regarding children telling my child they wish to end his life, and “he’s next”, but administration does nothing because it’s “student conflict”, “they can’t understand him” and “they haven’t heard any reports/seen anything”. You haven’t heard any reports?? IM MAKING A REPORT! This isn’t even the first time a student has wished to K!LL him. He would come home stating he had a bad day or felt stressed. My child is suffering severe night terrors, severe anxiety, behavioral issues, and spiritual warfare from constant threats and bullying. It got to a point where I needed to withdraw him and get him professional counseling. Do not send your child here! They do not care about your child! They have their favorites.

Great school! The principal and teachers care for the students.Is fun and safe environment.

Most kids have a great experience here. Assuming you are willing to fight other parents to keep your kids safe, don't have a special needs kid, and are willing to suck up to the administration, you will have a great time. Despite constant bullying, the administration refuses to step in unless you are willing to essentially bully them back. Special needs kids are looked over and IEPs are not followed. Be prepared to fight every single day to make sure your kid gets the services they are legally entitled to. There are a few really great teachers. Sadly, the administration plays favorites and those gems aren't allowed to truly shine.

Our experience has been the best. My children have attended 3 other elementary schools and based on our experience the teachers here are a lot more involved. That goes to show you how much they truly care for each and every student. Mrs farmer the third grade teacher at carnahan has truly exemplified the true meaning of a TEACHER. thanks to her approach and constant communication my child enjoys her class!

We’ve been sending our kids to this school for the last 10 years. We love the safe environment, the friends they’ve made, the relationship they have with the majority of their teachers, the small community feeling with the other parents and more importantly the fact that our faith and Catholic values learned at home as family are continued at the school. Not only they have excellent education but also have the gift of daily mass and also receive classical education, they go from Pre-K to High School something very difficult to find. Yes, there’s some room for improvement as in any other school, but if you’re looking for a Christ-centered education then this is your school. We have another child on her 3rd year at the school and will be sending our youngest kid next year.
