Maverick Elementary School

My son attended for 2 years. He did really well, progressed after working with the counselor and dean and his teacher. The teachers are very understanding and are always willing to help.My only concern was how emergencies were handled. Supposedly I was called but never received a call. And found out when I picked up my son from school.

The current and immediately former principal of the school are on their way to running it in the ground. Before the two most recent administrators, morale was high for the teachers, the kids enjoyed their learning, and it was great success schoolwide. Not the case anymore. When friends of friends are hired to run the school, it will never be back to its former glory. Look elsewhere for the sake your child.

Decent school but when it comes to drop off and pick it up it’s the worst thing I have ever seen…. People cutting line or parking in the line and getting off to get kids….. organization is definitely not a strong suit here

This is by far the best school I have seen, been to our even just visited.

Colby Glass Elementary is an incredible school, and the reason we chose to buy our house in this area of San Antonio. We are a military family, recently moving to San Antonio over a year ago, which has resulted in my son having attended 3 different elementary schools. Colby Glass has been by far the best elementary school he has attended, even exceeding my high expectations. He has had guidance support as a new student, is being taught at an advanced level for his age, and has thrived socially by attending all of the wonderful events the school has organized. Choosing to settle down in this school district has been the greatest blessing, for both my son at Glass and my daughter at Pat Neff (special shout out to the Neff MS Band, which has nurtured my daughter into being a brilliant trumpet player). If given a choice between any schools in area, I would choose Glass every time. Also, they are almost finished with the construction of a new gymnasium, which will only add to brilliance of this school!
