Read what parents are saying about Jones Middle SchoolMy son attended the “magnet “ stem of Jones and the teachers seemed to fall off .. quit one by one it was ridiculous
Posted by a parent on 6/21/2023Have they changed the name? It was Anson Jones. I went here for 7th and 8th grade. The teachers seemed to just go through the motions to get their day finished without having to deal with the students much. Of the years there, there were only four teachers who really made an effort to get on the level with the student and help them when needed. There was also a very big race / want to be gangster problem. The only things that I really took pleasure in while there was the library, which had a pretty nice selection, and band. My advice - keep your head down while in school and study hard when you get home. The bright end of the tunnel is once you leave you can head to John Jay, which, horrible score aside (4), is a great school with tons of programs and amazing teachers.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMeadow Village is a small community, both my oldest son and daughter attended before we moved and the teachers and staff were very welcoming. They remembered us by name. It would be nice if more parents were active with the PTA, Meadow Village has a lot more potential with the help of active parents.Parent Review11mo ago - Westwood Terrace Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter's in 3rd grade and she's doing a lot better than when she first started in pre-k. The administration was absolutely terrible and even the ladies that work the front office were apathetic and seemed very annoyed when you would ask for help or information. The school was dirty and needed improvements to the building and courtyard. It just seemed that most teachers were there to collect a check. This was very frustrating. It all got better the day that Mr. Tom Knapp became prinicipal and started cleaning up the place. He let go teachers that werent very good and began maintenance on the building and courtyard. He holds meetings for parents to attend and gives regular reports on the kids and schools progress. We are very pleased that he has taken over this school and seems genuinely sincere in making our kids education a top priority. Just because this school is in a poorer neighborhood and mostly comprised of Mexican-American kids, doesnt mean that our kids dont deserve a quality education. This is what Ive observed from Mr. Knapp and his Vice Principal. They have both made huge improvements at Westwood Terrace and should get more credit than they receive. The school rating should also be updated. Our community is very grateful for what they both have done.Parent Review7y ago - New Life Christian Academy
