Posted by a parent on 3/5/2024they wouldn’t let me get the food my friends mom got us even tho my mom consented to it we had a situation that happened with a couple of students and they told us to stop reporting it because it’s dumb and i got yelled at in the middle of the hallway because a situation that happened was all my fault when i just told them what happened
Posted by a student on 10/12/2023Fantastic teachers. Eager PTA. Passionate coaches. No complaints here! Bullies were tended to immediately in my kid’s experience.
Posted by a parent on 4/25/2023Teachers need to practice what they preach...KINDNESS, ANTI-BULLYING, and COMPASSION. My kids have repeatedly complained that several of their teachers are mean, make fun of students during class if they ask for help, and some just have anger management issues. Bush strives to be the "premier" middle school, but the only way to become “PREMIER” is to start with your teachers and lead them to provide ENCOURAGEMENT rather than insults. You are the role models. DO BETTER.
Posted by a parent on 3/17/2022If you have special needs children going here, make sure you know your rights and the laws and check in with teachers and your child consistently, because staff doesn’t always follow ieps and bullying is common place among some teachers, as well as kids and even the administration. Retaliation against children and ridicule in front of the entire class happens far too often.

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved from Hidden Forest Elementary, which was an awesome school providing schooling and life skills. Unfortunately this school provides the bare minimum teaching and nothing more. There has been lot of new construction and this school has been overwhelmed by sudden influx of so many students. Kids are stuffed into bus, kids literally have to sit on others lap as there are not enough seats, bus windows are completely closed without AC in Texas heat. My biggest gripe is that they offer very little after school programs. Roan Forest that is right next door has so many after school programs esp TGA. Teaching young kids these skills is very important but its costly & time consuming for us to set up individual lessons. Hidden Forest & Roan Forest have so many programs not sure why Encino Park doesn't have. All the teachers have been awesome, administrators are very helpful too. Just wish they push themselves to do more and make this is a great school.Parent Review1y ago - Stone Oak Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSince enrolling my son at this campus from a private school his academic performance has significantly decreased which is no surprise seeing this schools widespread poor academic performance scores compared to other schools in the area. His teacher makes absolutely no effort to motivate or make lessons engaging to more gifted students, he also turns a blind eye to the pervasive bullying going on in his class. Also despite the new law House Bill 3 passed on September 2023 requiring Texas schools to have an armed security officer at every campus during the school day there is still NO full time officer on campus to ensure children's safety!!Parent Review3mo ago - Hardy Oak Elementary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageComing from a larger city, we are impressed with Hardy Oak. The teachers are engaged, responsive and my three children (one is on to Highschool now) love going here. This school and Lopez Middle School across the street pack an educational punch. If your kid is struggling, teachers really step up.Parent Review1mo ago - Roan Forest Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child is a kindergarten student here. Within the first 5 months they received a death threat from another student and reported this same student after they threatened to kill another. Both times, the principal called me. Meanwhile, student making the threats is still in the classroom, bullying other children. A different bully is harassing and hitting my child as well and other children repeatedly going on months now. Their teacher does nothing to communicate this is happening. When confronted, she admitted she knew and failed to communicate it. Other faculty, such as the gym teacher, are aware of the issue and have been informing the parents. When we tried to address this, the counselor ignored us entirely and the principal both denied finding any evidence and accidentally admitted to trying to separate the bully months prior. All of this is taking place at the kindergarten level. I can only imagine how much worse it gets as the kids get older and learn there’s no consequences. There was already a bomb threat. However, despite assurances that police were aware and would be conducting a search, I witnessed no police at this school and I live very close by. The principal similarly did not have a reassuring plan of action. At no point did anyone mention school being dismissed early. PTA has no interest in working parents. Meetings are scheduled before lunch. When contacted about this, they will ignore you. They are, however, happy to collect. Your kindergartener will bring homework home. Texas comes in on the bottom half of national education rankings, so I can’t imagine what this is supposed to solve. States with better education systems usually don’t give homework before 2nd, often later. They will never answer the phone. Or return calls. Getting my child registered to attend was a nightmare. I had to stand in front of the registrar and ensure she was actually doing it because we had been in “processing” for weeks. My child tested well above average at the beginning of the year and is now showing regression. No one seems to care. The school appears understaffed. Multitudes are retiring and not being backfilled. The supposed police presence as mandated by the state is still “in hiring”. Roan forest feels unsafe, uncaring, and by several objective measures appears to be failing. I feel for the children attending. We will likely be pulling our child soonParent Review4mo ago - Canyon Ridge Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhen it comes to this school's community, it's welcoming, whether it's a member of the PTA, administration, or teacher. The administration, teachers, and staff are hard working individuals who care students needs. The student to teacher ratio is good. When there is a child who is struggling the school does a stellar job at finding a solution that works for the child and the child's classroom environment. I would highly recommend this school to anyone who has a child that is about to enter school or transferring from another school. It's rewarding to see the hard work and dedication that these educators have for the children and families within the community.Other Review9mo ago - Wilderness Oak Elementary School
