Read what parents are saying about Anderson Elementary SchoolWe so far had one kid in 2nd grade in Anderson. The almost new graduated teacher works awesome and attends every student invitation event! They School has some disciplines to follow but that’s meeting what us two as parent’s expectations.Quite some volunteers opportunities for us to get involved. Big thanks to both school and the PTA volunteers! Greetings Anderson Nation!
Posted by a parent on 4/10/2023The Anderson ES used to be such a great school with nice and friendly staff and teachers, but sadly not anymore. The communication between parents and classroom teachers have not gotten any better even before the pandemic started. Now that we no longer are required to wear masks at school anymore, but there are so many ongoing rules that we parents are treated like devils or germs having to wait outside for our child to search for lost items at school even after school hours. Right now, I personally feel not welcomed every time if I need to ask for some help at the front desk area. My husband I both felt the old Anderson was so much better in providing positive feedbacks to our parents and we both felt we got greater responses from the classroom teachers and even the principal. There were times we parents were not notified about how to get hold of the substitute teachers for weeks long toward the end of the school year. In addition, the front desk person even commented something to my face that your child never paid attention or never listened just because I questioned how come the lunch bag was still sitting in the basket area after the child was dismissed on the last day of the school. It is so sad that the staff is not friendly to parents now.
Posted by a parent on 9/20/2022My family currently has 2 children attending this school. We have been more than happy with almost everything. However, there is one issue and it is one of the kindergarten teachers. Hopefully my younger kids don’t have her as a teacher in the future. I would honestly remove my kids from her class it is that bad.
Posted by a parent on 7/9/2021If you like your kids doing worksheets and "stamina" tests...then this is the school for you. Why do they need to practice stamina. All this school cares about is STAAR. Principal is ineffective and rude.
Posted by a parent on 6/7/2021Anderson school is having a good curriculum. The Kindergarten curriculum is really great. Ms. Arend taught the basics really well. Coach Addis (PE Teacher), Ms. Jones (Art Teacher), Ms. Scotts (Musci Teacher), Ms. Del Hierro (Principal), Ms. McCord (Assistant Principal), and Ms. Kyser (Counselor) takes very good care of every kid. Children are taught concepts with tools so that kids remember them always. Its been 2 years since my daughter is going to this school and her reading and mathematical skills have improved a lot. Teaching and support staff are kind and supportive to kids. I highly recommend this school.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI had two kids in the elementary program from the beginning of the school year until late October. We really wanted this school to work out. We believe in the Montessori method and were willing to do whatever we could to support a good educational environment. Unfortunately, we began having issues right away that never ended up being resolved. The main issue was that the dynamics in the classroom were really stressful for my kids. Other children would make fun of them, yell at them for no reason, and make life there miserable. Both of my kids tried and were able to make some friends, but every day was still hard on them. My son in particular suffered. The longer he was at the school the more he problems he had, and eventually it became untenable. The school expressed no interest in supporting him or committing to even trying to make it a good environment. He was essentially pushed out. He's a curious and thoughtful kid. He loves learning. He never once got in trouble at the school. Our family is engaged and involved in their education. There was no reason for things to fall apart the way they did. Even the school can't justify it. We gave our daughter the choice to stay if she wanted to since she had friends that she really cared about, but she wanted to leave right away because she had similar issues with other kids that weren't being addressed. I truly believe the teacher and staff at the school care about the kids. I don't know why this didn't translate into a good educational environment, but it didn't. Now my family has to figure out in mid-semester how to manage with two kids at home every day unexpectedly. We're also trying to very hastily figure out what's next for their education. This whole experience has been stressful, but mostly it's just been sad. I wish we never enrolled here.Parent Review5mo ago - White Dove Montessori School
